Is Nicho Hynes overrated?

He got the roosters in 2015 with a nice individual try in golden point. That aside he's had some howlers - GF in the same year obviously and they way he tried to close out that 2018 semi v souffs was abominable - literally unbelievable in how bad it was.

As for Hynes, yes he's overrated. Not his fault, media darling and he's absolutely feeling it now. I could've sworn that when he was lining up that last conversion yesterday that he said "please" to himself or something like that as he was about run in and kick. I feel for him a bit.

Didn't say you can but when you have people in these forums that say he's over rated, I just posted what he has achieved which is a lot in the game....What you don't like my opinion???

Except elite footballers are usually too stupid to comment on football. What a conundrum!

There is definitely something not right with Nicho Hynes at the moment. He does not look like he is enjoying his footy and is playing with a total lack of confidence. Surely, his halfback days have come to an end tonight. Put him at 6 next year where he has less pressure. I've always thought he was a natural six anyway.

Big offseason for Nicho. Get rid of whatever shit is clearly going on in his head and move forward.

Also carried various leg injuries and then had the broken leg and ankle surgery in round 16 didn’t help.

Looked bigger for the defensive load but this affected his speed and ability to slice through a gap , then had the leg issues through the year

Not enough halves in the game, so the clubs that spend big on these contracts, want them with ball in hand as much as possible, In regards to nicho, you are correct but he can serve as a 5/8th foil to tridall
Which he and Atkinson are the best options in the halves, so the question is what to do with will Kennedy? There's been a few good players who had to move on or be in reserve grade because they value will over nicho at the back. Maybe next year we'll see a swap or move one of them on

If you put him at 6 next to a top organising 7 (Cherry, Reynolds, Cleary, Moses) he would look every bit the million dollar player he is. Even next to a player like Hastings, Fogarty or Sexton he would look like a top player.

When he needs to organise the attack, structure the set and worry about where his teammates are he’s not it, and good teams will expose that. it’s why Cronulla have a great record against bottom sides but barely lay a glove on the genuine contenders. Honesty they are not far off a premiership at all, they already have most of the pieces at the club
