Is our hooker moving on

I think Rein is responding well to criticism and has improving his form.
I disagree. I'm of the opinion that if a hooker is still delivering rubbish from dummy half at age 26 then he's no chance of coming good. I admire his guts but oh lord he ain't got the smarts to be a first grade 9.

That said, if the club decides to change the spine dynamics by introducing someone else in, then why not. As always I'd lean towards giving another local junior a go. We have the talent out there.
We MUST change the spine. The one we have simply isn't gelling.
Personally I'd move on the 7 and 9. The other two need a decent 7 and 9 to work with.

Respect your opinion duck.
Quick querie, whom would you replace Rein with ? From available talent.
Same with benji, bearing in the mind the new 2018 nrl deals.

I respect your opinion too mate.

Sorry, just not a Rein fan. At the present time there aren't a whole heap of options but I feel Havilli hasn't been given a chance to shine. Being brought on with ten to go and 20 behind isn't an ideal scenario for any player. Mary's utilisation of him has been diabolical. He's been killing it for the Cutters when given game time.

It looks like Wallace has been blooded as a 9. Dynamic ball runner. Hopefully quicker between the ears than Mitch. First grade standard? Only one way to find out.

Anyway short term? No idea. But Mary should have been experimenting if things weren't working. And imo they haven't.

And Benji? Love the guy but I hope this is his last year with us. Widdop with a genuine 7 will be sensational.

Repeating again for the 100th time, there ain't no worthy half back to replace Benji, we need him for 2017 .

Wasn't Rein offered the same he is on now and knocked it back ? . He is hanging out to try and get the reported 600-650k which seems unlikely now unless he heads to the ESL .

Personally I would like to see Sam Coster given a go . Once he got up to speed with first grade I think he would go well . Certainly has a superior passing game and plenty tough .

Fair enough, and the bold I agree with not just with rein / Havili, but even Milne and co.
Havent seen Wallace enough to judge, but many do rate him.

I would be happy if Rein moves on and Benji can follow him.

Next year Dugan and Widdop should also be shown the door.

All 4 players do not offer enough to warrant them as key players.

Sam Coster from what I have been told isn't interested in a contract with the Dragons as it would be on the very low scale and he could make more money just playing part time and working full time.

Actually its the same with a number of Cutters contracted players who feel the same way.

If only Rein could pass a ball backwards, every 5 passes from 20 either go forward of way of the target player.

St Georgio since you seem to think you know better tell me exactly why any of those players are worth keeping.

Widdop - horrible and not a half
Marshall - inconsistant and now injury prone
Rein - Can't pass, doesn't organise and can't concentrate for a full 80.
Dugan - Has no clue how to inject himself into an attacking set and isn't even in the top half of fullbacks in the game.

Mary isn't a good coach actually he is crap but all of these guys well maybe not so much Dugan but the rest don't help what so ever.

I agree re Benji and Rein . And I tend to be thinking the same about Widdop and Dugan . I watched 360 a month or so ago and they listed the top 10 payed players and Dugan was listed at 8 on 850k . If that is the case he is looking for a upgrade for another 3 years after 17 he would be on over 1mil per season . And I agree at the moment he isn't in the top 6 fullbacks and that is because the game seems to suit the faster ball playing fullbacks like Tedesco , Moylan, Coote , Boyd who all score more tries and have many more try assists . I think Dugan is becoming a square peg in a round hole . Even playing centre he still hasn't the passing game or speed which our side needs badly .

As for Widdop since becoming captain his game has gone backwards badly . Maybe the answer is a complete new spine for 18 that is more balanced ....But a new coaching staff is a must .

If Rein wants a significant increase in salary they should let him move on.

Benji's body is struggling to hold up. His contract should not be renewed.

Benny Creagh will always be a club legend. His time to retire has arrived.

Poor Dylan Farrell. Your contract is also up.

Quinlan should never have been resigned.

Mike Cooper is leaving. Sorry to see you go Mike.

Plenty of salary cap space available for quality players.

When we sign a quality coach, the quality players will sign with us. Not before.

If Mary and Millward were to be paid what the forum thinks they are collectively worth, I doubt it would be enough to buy a packet of chewing gum.

Rein is a much better player than Mary is a coach.
