Is PI a waste of time??

I'm a VIP and the only reason I think I got it was because I alerted Rob and another moderator in relation to a poster who attacked the reputation of some of the Jersey Flegg players' girlfriends, all because those girls were with the players in question and this poster wasn't.
I'm all for some supporters professing their love/lust for a player, but don't attack the player's partner over it.

I haven't been to PI for over a year or so. Last time I was there the whole releasing Ben Ross and Big Joe thing was happening. People, like myself, were criticising the management. But there were some mods or whatever who were attacking people stating their opinions and just majorly sucking up to panthers management. It turned from a place where you could express yourself to a place where if you didn't want to be in the panthers management love fest you weren't welcome.

Apparently you have to make at least one informative and high quality post in the eyes of Rob to acheive VIP status... I'm not quite sure what his grading criteria is.

Having an argumentative history with Rob does not necessarily disqualify you from being awarded VIP Status as there are those that have had Run-in's with the man himself and have still acheived it .... Although sometimes, I wonder....:-k

Even though I've been on P.I. for years, and have made some good quality contributions (in my opinion) I Don't think Rob will ever give me VIP Status, but then again I don't really care either. I'm not a "Yes" man in any way, shape or form and I'm not about to betray my convictions/deny my opinions and kiss arse just so that I can have a picture in my avatar.

I don't really want to come on here and discuss PI, I just felt the need to reply to Cainen. :crazy:
But PJ I don't believe that Rob is that unforgiving.

It is certainly a waste of time if your views do not conform to the politically correct views of those who effectively control the site?

Since the silly season got into fully swing, we have failed dismally to compete against all our major competitors to recruit fresh blood into the club despite allegedly having some funds available.

Our failure to bring some established and quality players into the club has been compounded by releasing/losing two of the form players of the competition never mind the club ie Puletua and Stapleton. both of whom will be competing for the award of Best Bargain Buy for 2007.

It's still a good source of information regardless of whether you like how it is run or not.

In reality the club is basically a business. There aren't too many businesses that would allow critical information about themselves to be published on their own websites - one of the reasons not many clubs have official forums anymore. Panthers does allow critical posts, provided it's done in an appropriate manner.

I don't post all that much on PI and I certainly don't kiss up to anyone and I have VIP status. I was banned from PI in 2003 but was still made a VIP....
