As voted by his mates at the Telegraph. Had a good year but not better than Flanagan who is about to do what no other coach has done at the Sharks.

lol coach of the year? Couldn't even get his team up at home round 1 of the finals. Flanno pshould have won it.

It's based on the regular season. Flanno took a well rated squad from sixth to third. Ricky took a team most thought would get the spoon from tenth to second.

Even the weirdest of sharks fans surely cannot deny he has seriously transformed the raiders. We were an absolute basketcase when stuart came into town. I think an award like best coach of the year is hard to give out. Should it just go to bellamy who took the storm to first in the regular season ?

Its more than just results obviously but its not like stuart got poor results. We were tipped at best to finish bottom of the 8 this year.

Wooden spoon
To GF
In 2 seasons
Did it with no money and a bunch of discards
15 in a row
Beats the best coaches team in Canberra missing both captains in semi 1
Then beats the reigning premiers to make the GF

Ricky has done well
But Flano has come back from the dead

Coach of the year should be whoever wins the grand final.

No ones cares who comes 3rd and 4th (no disrespect Raiders fans).

Rubbish. Neil Henry took his team to the top eight, when it was predicted to get the wooden spoon. You can't tell me that he shouldn't be a chance to get coach of the year. I think the problem for Henry though, was his team lost too many must win games at the back end of the season to be considered. While the Titans did make the top eight, they were certainly helped on the back of results going their way.

Shane Flanagan did a good job this year also, but the Sharks probably hampered his chances by their wobble at the end of the regular season. There was also a view that Raiders improvement was greater then the Sharks. Sharks were always tipped to be competitive this year, but the Raiders tipped to barely make the eight.

Sorry I should have said this year.

Titans did well but like you said, the end of the year they fell away. The Hayne effect?
Raiders did well, can't deny Rick made some great changes for them. Hodgson should be getting a special paper bag in the mail from Ricky.
Storm and Bellamy always do well.
Sharks did well to come from wooden spooners to the grand final in a couple of years.

Raiders were easily most improved team this year finishing 2nd with most people tipping them not even making the 8

couldn't have been an easier pick for coach of the year.

Henry and Griffiths deserved nominations aswell
