Kudos to Buzz Rothfield for sticking it to Paul Kent on NRL360 and saying that Ricky was deflecting his poor coaching performance by blaming the refs in the game against the Storm. He said the refs did him a favour by keeping two players in consecutive weeks on the field when they should have been sent off.

League legend Brett Kimmorley has busted Raiders coach Ricky Stuart for the real motive behind his five-minute referees rant on Saturday.

Stuart used the entirety of his post-game press conference to slam the match officials after his side’s finals hopes were crushed by Melbourne.

But Kimmorley claims the under-fire coach used the tactic to deflect questions on his team’s dismal 2017 season.

“I think it is pretty obvious that the most noise about the quality of refereeing is coming from the two coaches who are struggling the most,” Kimmorley wrote for ESPN.

“Ricky Stuart and Des Hasler are in charge of two of the most disappointing, underachieving teams in the NRL, and they can only be trying to deflect the attention away from themselves by attacking the whistle blowers.”

Generally, I don't rate the toxic gnome but he's nailed it here.
