Opinion Is Ricky Stuart the most overrated coach ever?

Sorry RCB et al but I'll be cheering on Sticky for the spoon. I just think that three in a row, including consecutive years with two different clubs, is a record we should all be hoping is achieved.

Carn the Faiders.

It'll only be 2 in a row.

But some Eels fans do like to blame him for their other spoon.

The club demoraliser and all for a cool $800k plus incentives per year.

Stuart took some of the credit for Parramatta's resurgence during an interview with the ABC in May. "I'm happy when I see Parramatta winning because I know I did the right thing there and I know I did a good job," Stuart said at the time. "That's not taking anything away or being disrespectful to their coach, Brad Arthur, he's doing a really good job and I compliment him. But I like seeing them play well and I like seeing them win because the decisions I made there are decisions I have to make here in regards to the balance of a team, the quality of player ... in rebuilding a football team, there are two things that have got to happen: one is time and two it's big decisions."

No worries when you get the spoon this year and are near the bottom next year we will see how patient you are. He will get the arse or he will quit. Nothing surer.

What patience? I've never supported his signing and was rubbishing him when he was at parra.

I might have been bring sarcastic when I used the thumbs up, what do you reckon?

Ita funny how he uses the rebuilding excuse when everyone knows theres no way in the world he came in a rebuilding role, they wanted results or at least compeditive.

Of course it was a rebuilding role. We lost Dugan, Ferguson and Milford, our chief playmaker is an aging cripple, our second highest paid player has barely seen the field in the last 3 years and we still have to persist with a park football quality hooker. If any club was in need of a reboot it's ours. It doesn't matter who coached us this season, a rebuild was the job.

I think Stuart is a rubbish coach just like everyone else but Eels fans were praying on his demise before he even got a shot at coaching Canberra, almost boasting about it now
