It was a dud call, but had it been officated correctly, the sharks get a fresh set for no reason at all.
The screw up resulted in a 6 point play

It would have sucked for the sharks,but the only reason they scored was because the Raiders stopped defending care of the screw up. They VERY likely dont score if the screw up doesnt occur.
So again, the balance of this isnt 50/50

I blame Perenara for the Katoa try. As the video ref, he should have noted that the touchie put his flag up which constitutes an automatic stoppage of play no matter what. Perenara should have grown some balls and ruled no try due to the play being dead after the flag went up. But no, the mong just checked what he was asked to check and showed no nous at all.

The forward pass was just a typical anti raiders call. If that's Brisbane throwing that pass, it's a try every time. The ball went backwards out of the hands, curved back in the air and was caught at approximately the parallel point from where BJ threw it from.

The guy seems to legitimately think the Raiders first try was off a forward pass, like he doesn’t understand basic physics.

I doubt the Sharks would have got the scrum in any case. The touchie puts his flag up incorrectly to rule the knock on and the lead ref thought it was a knock on. If Sutton makes his decision its scrum Raiders, as the knock on precedes the flag raise. If the touchie puts flag up to rule knock on and Sutton disagrees and thinks there is no knock on, then its scrum Sharks due to the flag raise being the issue.
