Is rivalry round legit for your team?

Brisbane can only win comps when they buy them anyway

Beave's post puts paid to the Bronco drivel about Queenslanders united against the world. I am sure one day they will rework Einsteins theory of relativity to discover a warp around Brisbane that distorts thinking. North Queenslanders are normal. Gold Coast is normal. Brisbane? FMD..........

Jesus Christ this merkin can't help himself. He starts a thread and asks for contributions, he gets one from a genius like me, totally on topic and qualified but he has to bring it back to his pathological hatred of Brisbane.

Here's why Manly and Brisbane have a rivalry: we're both successful clubs over a long period of time, in the same era, something that Parra will never need to worry about.

Parra should pick its rivalries from reserve grade sides imo.

Shadow?

Pfffft, the only time we've played where it really mattered (finals) we f**king won. It's not our fault other clubs can't do the same and give them saloon passages to premierships...................

Like that one time... in 2005 grand final.

NQ and GC are pretty normal, you could even say below average. Brisbane? Well everyone knows of how successful they have been. A great club.

we shouldn't have even been there.

2004 on the other hand......................

Ever wondered why the 2005 is still the highest rating GF (from memory)in history?

The Broncos are not as popular in QLD as you think ;-)

2007, 2008 and 2010 all out-rated 2005.

Yep, Scott Prince. You guys always whinge about him and yet Tariq has had the exact same fortunes up there.

He's not the only promising Bronco you've poached who's gone backwards up north.

The Warriors are a relatively young club, so we haven't had a lot of time to formulate the rivalry of, say, a Roosters v Bunnies. But yeah, Brisbane (tends to be a pretty good match up and we played them in Round 1 of 1995) or Melbourne (into the competition at the same time and we have proved to be a bogey team of sorts for them in the past). The Cowboys perhaps...we had the 'cheerleader brawl' with them and we seem to have a pretty frequent exchange of players between the 2 clubs.

Right, who can ever forget when they took that try-scoring freak Scott Minto from us? :fist: Somehow he went even worse there.

Except neither were picked up from the Cowboys.

Both came mid-season when we were struggling to fill those positions. Tronc in particular was a handy pick-up for us.
