Some of the contributors here want to make pathetic and unfunny jokes about the Dutch-Australian super star's name. The fact is that Ryan Papenhuyzen is making rugby league history as we speak.

It's not particularly noteworthy when an Australian born player makes it in the NRL.

You lot won't be making pathetic jokes when Ryan Papenhuyzen leads the Netherlands to its first victory in the 2025 World Cup.

If he lives up to your hype he’ll be playing for Australia come 2025 you fool.

You don't know what you are talking about. The big news today is how the ethnic players are signing up for their second tier countries at the expense of the first tier. Andrew Fifita and Jason Taumololo for Tonga instead of Australia and New Zealand respectively, Marty Tapau for Samoa instead of New Zealand, and many, many others likewise. Proud Dutch ethnic Ryan Papenhuyzen will play for the Netherlands if the Netherlands can get a place in the 2025 World Cup.
