To paraphrase Seinfeld.. we all just cheer for laundry.
The Taj, every other Sunday..

Please take me through the 82 - 98 when St George went it alone scenario? From 1921 - 1981, Illawarra was part of the dragons catchment area.
From 1982 - 1998 St George chose to go it alone, before being rightfully reunited with Illawarra in 1999..
Premierships:
- St George with Illawarra: 16
- St George without Illawarra: 0
Clearly the tail couldn’t wag itself, that’s why it had to join back up with Illawarra..Please take me through the 82 - 98 when St George went it alone scenario?
Surely then, the tail of the dog should have wagged and shown the world that it could stand in its own feet and survive?
Nice try Muzby but no prizeClearly the tail couldn’t wag itself, that’s why it had to join back up with Illawarra..
And try not to call Illawarra a dog in future.. it’s very rude to call our benefactors by such a name..
C’mon man.. that’s such 2017 thinking..Nice try Muzby but no prize
Illawarra are a dud organisation and need as big a clean out as does St George.
C’mon man.. that’s such 2017 thinking..
Illawarra are sorted.. It’s St George who need the clean out.. I can only suggest getting it done before it’s too late..
*minority shareSt George Leagues Club is the only rugby leagues club with shares in SGI.
The shares that were owned by the Steelers were sold to the local baker who made these into half a dozen bread rolls that were sold to the supermarket and they sold these to a restaurant owner who served them up to WIN who therefore owns the Illawarra side of the JV.The shares in the JV that were owned by the Steelers were sold to WIN who now own the Illawarra side of the JV.
What flavour were the rolls? The shares that were owned by the Steelers were sold to the local baker who made these into half a dozen bread rolls that were sold to the supermarket and they sold these to a restaurant owner who served them up to WIN who therefore owns the Illawarra side of the JV.
The half dozen bread rolls have all been eaten. It's known at the 6 degrees of separation.
and the orange man obviously has a distinct preference for anything south of bulli .your predjudice stands out like a beacon ,maybe you should change your name to the daptodipstick ..........A foolish approach fraught with danger when you start classifying people by race..
But putting aside this feeble-mindedness, your approach is still just showing that the St George side of things is holding back the Dragons club..
We should take an approach of accepting all people to be fans, regardless of ethnicity. The same goes for players. If you’re a good junior, you’re welcome at the club - regardless of what your family background is..
This is only something we can achieve by freeing ourselves and embracing the Illawarra.
Bulli is a bit far, happy to take everything up to the Georges River (the fishing is good there).and the orange man obviously has a distinct preference for anything south of bulli .your predjudice stands out like a beacon ,maybe you should change your name to the daptodipstick ..........
Sourdough of course. What flavour were the rolls?
Delicious.. although I would have appreciated the baker making at least 2 of them cheesymite rolls..Sourdough of course.
Positive changes?I suppose it is now time for St Georges new partner to step up and make positive changes that improve the plight of the Dragons. After all, that is what they are there to do.
Positive changes?
WIN have helped usher in governance changes, removed the debt so that we aren’t at the behest of the NRL anymore and launched a nationwide media campaign to increase membership numbers (and therefore revenue)..
Give credit where credit is due, man..
They are some amazingly positive changes in just a short time, and changes that most fans have been screaming out for..
And not sure what this “plight” is? The JV is now in the strongest financial shape it’s ever been in, we’ve got a roster than is strong enough to account for coaching deficiencies and are on track to have record membership numbers (thanks WIN!)
Unless you’re talking about St George’s plight? If so it’s a bit unfair to expect WIN to bail them out too.. If St George are struggling for cash they can always sell the Kogarah games to ANZ or even that new Parramatta stadium..
But you’ve really got to stop the “us vs them” mentality bro.. It’s not healthy for our football club, particularly when that type of negative thinking is coming from the now minority party in the JV.
Lol.. the whole premise of this thread is to get rid of the Illawarra aspect of the club.As for your commentary regarding the “us and them” attitude of some supporters, to me it’s a case of the pot calling the kettle black. You are a primary driver in promoting division when you attack the St George JV partner.
Like any marriage it’s important to respect your partner.
Without St George this club has no history of success or tradition.
We are St George Illawarra.
Nope, I think you need to re-read his post. He asks if the St George club is still a joint venture club.Possm’s original post opening the thread posed a simple question as to whether Illawarra as a football club still had a beneficial interest in the JV having sold its shares to a private company.
Everyone on the forum acknowledges that the Gordon family support the Illawarra region.
But ultimately they own half the shares in the JV, not the Illawarra Football Club.
Hence Possm is correct in his assumption that Illawarra Football Club no longer has a beneficial interest in the JV.
As far as I am aware, the St.George era you should highlight is from 1921 to 1998,
hence your conclusion is clearly wrong
our Club will in all likelihood be relocated because that was and remains Murdoch’s plan.
Despite being a large catchment area for rugby league, the Illawarra locals happily support their local competition often in preference to the JV.
In short they haven’t fully embraced the JV.
The average crowd for Wollongong based games is generally around 12,000.
As for Gordon junior controlling the JV, reality is he doesn’t have a casting vote, so there won’t be any major change unless it’s supported by both joint venture partners.
