f**k me there is some whinging about this game...

We get a pre-season game show-casing some of the games best talent, there has been a HUGE amount of pre-season publicity and goodwill generated that would not normally occur, and there has been a heap of money raised for the game that would be channelled back into community projects.

No ones ever happy are they?

Shut the f*ck up, sit back and enjoy the week that has been and the game that is to come. If you don't like it, dont switch on and enjoy the scrum re-sets of the tahs v reds, an afl pre-season game, some internet porn or whatever floats your boat.

I for one am finally proud of a new innovation, and that the NRL (albeit with the help of Searle, a great addition to our game) for once.

Well said.

I'm still thinking of what Benji said.

I'm thinking also that I've been to Queensland - nice place, some great people. At Origin time I want to see them immersed in misery.

Got a real good mate who is a diehard Manly fan. I love hanging around him. But none more than GF day when Manly lose.

I have also had the pleasure of knowing some wonderful Koories over the years too. I work with some lovely people who are indigenous too. Salt of the earth. And I hope my mob flog 'em tonight. 62-0 with Hayne scoring 4 and Finchy hammering Thaiday like the big useless pussy he is.

GO THE MIGHTY STARS!

I feel for Preston. Searle reckons he was in tears when it came about - representing kooris is the career highlight for him.

Now, the rules are clown rules. Thaiday doesn't want to hurt old grandpa in the other side, and PJ marsh is representing the Kooris because his great great great great great grandmother was one.

Under those rules Morley would be more eligible!

Bring back the bloody sevens then watch Melbourne get flogged in the WCC instead!

Why don't you just tune into channel ten tonight and watch star wars instead.

I'm looking forward to seeing Locky drop to the ground every time he is front of Thaiday. :D

Disappointing to see so many players pull out however, happy for the players that may not get a go at playing with rep players and looking forward to watching a game of league after a long off season.

i dont know what people are moaning about... its a great concept...

i think a few clowns on this forum are just getting upset because were celebrating indigenous players in our game.

i think this will be wonderful... and you cant help but feel happy for the guys who will represent the indigenous side tonight... it will probably be a career highlight.

i would love to one day see the likes of Benji Marshall, Adam Blair, The Cayless boys, Kevin Locke, Timana Tahu etc... represent the Maori's in a special match like this.

i wish both sides the best of luck...

There could be a tug of war on that considering Tahu is half Maori/Aboriginal...Who would he play for?

Just heard on radio about the double try -- 8 pt try option.

News to me, but now theyre saying the defending teams fullback must be off the field, 13 on 12.

Joke.

:?

Innovation is good, but I would've saved such a move for the NRL trials and left this game played under the current rules. With that said, I think there has to be a time where the NRL stops mucking about with the rules of our game. Enough. We have a good product, drastic chances like the one above just confuses the situation.

What's next Ten10 rugby league?

meh... he's both... so he can play for both... i understand Thurston is in a similar position.

there doesnt need to be any strict eligibility rules for a celebration game like this... if they qualify for both... let them choose who they want to play for each year.

something great about the Maori concept over here is bringing in guys who are Maori but havent had the chance to get to know there own heritage.

they end up learning a lot about there own family and culture which can only be good for both the individual and the culture.

its about the camp just as much the actual game itself.

i hope the indigenous team has a similar theme...

i think its wonderful concept to celebrate our indigenous cultures like this.

You'd think he'd play for the Aboriginal team considering he picked Australia. But it'd be interesting to see if he would change to a hypothetical Maori team...

What if the defending team already has a player sent off or in the bin?
Does it then go to 13 on 11?

Ive never heard of this fullback off on an 8 point attempt, I think they just added it recently

Makin up rules on the run

Joke

I think the attacking team should have the option to choose which player they want to remove from the defensive line.

Anyone who said it would be a joke must feel like an idiot now. It was a great exciting game that has built a lot of support for rugby league.

It has also taken all of the whatever little gloss there was away from the super14 season launch and AFL. The week has belonged to rugby league.

This game has and will further capture the youth of Australia's interest particularly in the indigenous community.

If ch9 bothered to show this game in the NT then you would expect rugby league to grow up there on the basis of this game alone.
