DC Slayers
Jaxonville axemen
Boston Thirteens

I can't think of the others but even they had an overlap in the Rode Island Rebellion.

Chiefs fits well. Much better than angels. Just have to deal with all the AI logos until official is released

- Adelaide (as a rival for Perth and Melbourne AFL states)
- Western Melbourne (as a crosstown rival to the Storm)
- NZ-2 (whether it's two Auckland based teams or not, as a rivalry, also see those two teams adopt city names not the national name)
- Ipswich (as a western corridor and fulfill four compass point teams in SEQ)
- Have the Dolphins adopt the name Brisbane or Briabane North if not Redcliffe

So that's four more with only two spots left. If they go to 22 teams thats fine too.

I've been sceptical of a PNG franchise and how strong it could be but I must say, this name has grown on me awfully fast!
PNG Chiefs sounds cool! That's a strong brand!

They are off to a good start. The Chiefs name is a beauty.

In terms of how they fare as a club, going broke as you suggest is the very last of the criteria that might possibly bring them undone. Over half a billion & an annual club grant that exceeds the cap means bar an act of criminal intervention they will be fine. And more than likely prosper.

Well I’ve noticed a few lately.

Chiefs is not the most creative name, but it is a good solid choice that no one can be upset with.

It has a similar vibe to NZ “Warriors” which really suits!

In “nation building” terms, which is clearly a big motivation for this team, it is a pretty great choice. They are literally saying “hey kids, these are the people you should aspire to be”

Being from PNG am also looking forward to see what the Logo will look like.
As you all know we have over 840 different languages and thousands of different tribes.
That means over a thousand different Chiefs with a thousand different looks, outfits, colours, weapons etc.
