Which is why i keen on whatever this future joint bid is with cairns, if it gets traction, could see a direct pathway straight from digicup to NRL, without having to get recognition by having to play elsewhere first like your Rhyse Martins, Justin Olams, David Meads, and Nene McDonalds.
More players straight from the Hunters playing for the NRL
I understand what you’re saying but I’m not a fan of joint venture teams as they try to please everybody and usually end up pleasing nobody.

In any case I think you can achieve just about all you can in PNG with the hunters in terms of the pathways setup for identifying talented players from the digicel cup.

But then what? Hunters are stuck in the QCup, and storm and other nrl clubs pick the bones out of them, instead of them able to field an almost NRL standard side, the only issue is see is the security in a 3rd world country for the NRL players being an issue, but having cairn being a base, and players from their to choose from too, could give cowboys a rivalry, and shot in the arm

The primary goal of the hunters is to develop and expose as many kumuls as possible for earning NRL contracts from any team In the comp.

The potential of PNG is crazy and even more so with the pathways being setup within the country from the local leagues supplying the digicel cup teams and in turn the digicel cup teams supplying the hunters with players.

All that is needed now is for the hunters to enter either a u18’s or u20’s team or ideally both into the Queensland competition and PNG, the NRL and RL in general is setup to reap the benefits.
PNG and the NRL would benefit from entering teams in the Colts, U18s and U16s competitions so that their younger players can develop quicker.

That's right. The Hunters administration pretty much said something along these lines when they entered the competition.
Ok then why create the joint bid, there will always be aspirations to climb higher into 1st grade, its the bid statement of redcliffe, and its most probably why they are favorable at the moment, having greater assets, own stadium and other areas covered, basically NRL ready, or at least further along then the other flybynight shotgun bids

This might be politically incorrect or scientifically wrong but could getting young kumuls aged between 14 to 18 into a well funded academy with the best and right foods available and training help them develop and grow their bodies a few inches extra so that they are a little taller because your average kumul is very short and stocky?

I can understand the 10-15k rusted on bears fans being stubborn and not moving to another team but that was 20 years ago and there’s a million people in that region, why aren’t the other 990k people following rugby league and choosing a near by club to support?
Sydney must be a weirdo city is all I can say. When the Dockers came in people from Hilton or canning vale or melville or the 25 other southern suburbs didn’t refuse to support them Because they were called fremantle!
RL has been tribal in Sydney for 113 years

It has passed down through the generations

Just ask if a Queenslander follows a NSW team when they play Victoria because is neighbouring state

nonsense, we play in winter (I'm guessing you haven't been to Perth in winter?). Sunday 4pm (6pm East coast) is a perfect KO time for TV and crowds. Stop talking about Singapore, its never going to happen. If we cant get a team in perth where we have stadium, investors Jnr development, corporate support and a fanbase that will fill the stadium then we arent ever going to high risk options like Singapore.
Concentrate PR. I was responding only the the rediculous notion of a team in Singapore.

Too expensive and not practical for PNG kids to spend every second weekend away from home.

Im cool with that, what do reckon about PNG tho?

Btw twiggy won't let up, if he gets a wild idea its going to be repeated at nauseam on every thread, this weeks edition is east asia, and how st.george will relocate there coz Asians love dragons, and grotd is a racist, or at least borderline racist, doesnt probably know that its offensive to assume that asians like pandas and tigers too..... oh yeah dragons are an Asian thing, lets send them up there

First he wanted 5 Brisbane clubs, now he wants a Singapore team, wonder his next take is,

You know if you want to reach biggest market, scratch all Aussie teams & replace them with Chinese ones. 100 cities in China with bigger population than Sydney. Australia is holding nrl back

I never said 5 Brisbane clubs. I said 4 and I was wrong. People are allowed to learn from their mistakes and change their opinion.

It's highly possible that relocation of some teams could be the way forward as well for the mythical 'national' footprint that no code of football is yet to have in Australia (Cricket the only sport that has it).

The question then is - who? Absolutely high risk of alienating rusted on fans through that method, as seen with the Northern Eagles, Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra Dragons.

The NRL cites player depth as a concern - so why isn't a second NZ team being talked about?
