I know the answer, and it's one you are to scared to comprehend. Piss Smith off.

BTW Einstein, we don't get a chance to vote for the coach. And why you are busy telling me wht to do, what are YOU doing about it? Breaking open the bubbly? Or sitting on your quoit telling everybody else what to do while you such up Smith's arse?

Enjoy having September off YET AGAIN.

No but you can vote on the board who can vote on a CEO who can vote Smith off the Island.

It is beyond your comprehension that you can do this?

As to what am I doing about it, I am putting forward my opinion on things to people I know, people who in the eels organisation are equally as annoyed at our performance as both you and I, and people who have the ability to get things done.

That is what I am doing.

I don't enjoy having September off, but I also don't sit at my pc and stew in my own juices about my football club, I get out and do something about it. I ask questions, I seek reasons, but all this is lost on you

Your answer has nothing in the terms of how to turn the club around, it would just make you happy for 15 minutes until you realise that we are still in the same spot we were 15 minutes ago, just we don’t have Brian Smith at the club.

He partially got us into this mess and the board has said that he will get us out of it. So unless you can vote the board out you are going to have to live without you 15 minutes of joy.

I, too, put my thoughts forward to people in the know via this messageboard, which is the best forum I, and others, have. You might be able to live in the pockets of Fitzy and co like some groupie lap dog. Others have lives that prevent that, for example if Fitzy moved next door, I'd have the same access as you. (I'd also wear land prices plumetting).

I find it arrogant of you to suggest that my method is not as good as yours. But it's the method of the fans, not the suckholes. I don't devote my life to stalking club board members, I have a young family which I would rather spend my time with. And I don't live as close to the club as I can to make my stalking activities easier. One day Parra might have the foresight to move to Taree, and I could stalk Fitzy instead of you. However, my family would still take precedence over my time, so I still wouldnt be as effective a shadow as you. And I doubt they'd accept me as they accept you. I wouldn't be a yes man lap dog just so I can brag on an internet forum!

Firstly, the Bonehead comment, is playing the player not to ball, get back to this issue.

You want my opinions on players, I believe I offered some in the first post in this thread.

quoting myself
I think Witt didn't lead the team around the park and that we are missing in forward firepower because our current forwards have to do all the work with no backup.

No I don't have anything overtly about the eels in my Avatar or Signature, purely because everyone who knows me knows my passion for the club. But there are references. Like "To the Morning and Evening Stars" is a tribute to my friends lost in the Bali Tragedy. I remember calling them that when the last person I saw the night after we beat Brisbane in Brisbane was Dimmy and the first person I saw in the morning was Elizabeth when we had breakfast together. They were the morning and evening stars.

Why wont I vote smith out or the current board out, because listen to their view on an issue. I then consider if that is a view that will see the club move forward or backward. But I think the reason I won't vote against them is that I am reason minded and although passionate about my club, I don't let Passion overtake me.

As for one vote wouldn't help. That is a belief that democracy doesn't work. In 1961 Kennedy won by less than a thousand votes, those votes changed things didn't they. . .

As for voting players points, why would I bother when it has nothing to with any awards. I do vote for players in the clubs fan award where it means something.

But if you want my take on the last game, sure not a problem.

Our Tactic of kicking shallow got a few results but not as many as we liked, but then again I am sure we didn't want to be kicking off all that often. I think it should have been dropped after the 2nd failure.

Corey Persons Penalty for tackling a player will be part of the reason I remember the game against the warriors for a while, what was he supposed to do, just look at him as he played on.

Wagons defence out of the line is a good ploy but it seems some referees don't believe a Lock or five eight is that quick he needs to be near the referee a great deal more when he is going to make this big charges to stop the penalty flow. Maybe only rushing up when the referee is beside him could stop the flow of penalties.

Thorman tried hard in conditions that suited him but was unfortunate not to get a result. Our attack on the fringe of the ruck is currently what is keeping us competitive and it is only due to some poor options and second guessing that we are not winning. This seems to be because the side is not playing as a cohesive unit. I think asking them to play like a cohesive unit is asking a lot when you consider we have been unable to field the same team week after week due to injuries suspensions and poor performance.

Widders had another great game and I am happy we have signed him for another year. As long as he is used off the bench he is going to be a super sub.

Pearson, Vella. Both have the ability to dominate a team as we saw with the Broncos. They can take it to the best forwards in the comp and not back down. However I think that having Pearson, Stapleton, and Vella starting is a ploy to get on top of a side early and score points, we need to have a good buffer (16-18) going into that time as when the come off we have little options.

Tsoulos is playing injured and playing like he is injured. Big Jack is not as big as he was in premies. If we get some players back in the rear end of the year, Cayless for 2 or 3 games and Cannings anytime soon, we might be able to make a platform that will see our side start to win games instead of being competitive. This Off season I would love to see someone have a chat to Cayless to make him go into contact with another player with out raising his non ball carrying arm. This is why he breaks them so often in my opinion.

Hopkins is a strong club man but I unfortunately think could have been the reason for the panthers turn around in 2003. To many Wrong Options.

Wade Mckinnon is playing well apart from his handling of the high balls and I hope that Brian Smith has pencilled him in for extra training sessions with Michael Witt, Chris Thorman and Jason Taylor all putting high spiral kick at him while the forwards charge down at him. Wade is getting good support from Ash Graham, it would be nice if Ash could cross the line more often or break a tackle but he can't do what Eric Jnr can.

So there is what I think of our players and our team. Well I would more say players because on a whole we aren’t playing like a team, we are back to playing like individuals and waiting for one individual to spark something. But when an individual does spark something it is so rare that the rest of the team is caught unaware and can't do anything about it. But I know in saying this I am not saying anything new.

You miss judge me Misty,

I don't live in anyone’s pocket. Unless you count living in Sydney.

Your method addresses concerns you have to other fans, my method addresses concerns to people in power. I don't say either is more effective, you all might prove me wrong and have a rally one day.

I am fortune, that I can speak with club officials, and I only got that ability because I have the same taste in hotels and travel as club members do, and that I was once part of a great supporters organisation that was very prominent. I say once part but we do get back together now and then but we to have other commitments like work and family.

I find it supremely arrogant to suggest that I am a lap dog of club members with nothing better to do than be their yes man. You don't know me and why am I even arguing this, you are playing the person and not the issue again.

I might also have been lucky enough to have had a very close friend live in the same apartment complex as fitzy, (seeing him take out the trash in a t-shirt and bike pants while you are getting ready to drive for 5 hours to a trial match is not the most enjoyable site but I digress). Sure proximity is one thing, but you don’t speak with them when they are home, I am sure they like speaking about football about as much I as like speaking about the Internet when I am not at work. I have had more contact with the club when I have been at games like Rockhampton, Tamworth, Townsville, Brisbane, Canberra and Parkes than I have had at Parramatta.

I too have friend’s, family and other things away from football and away from a computer. I do spend a great deal of time with them instead of with members of our great club. Having said that a mobile phone with hands free is a great tool while driving home from work during business hours.

Nice to know you have a life, Mark.

However, I reinterate, it is arrogant of you to belittle the thoughts of others merely becuase they havent the acess to the club that you have. To suggest that the only way to get a message across is not by discussing your thoughts on a forum, but by voting once per whenever in a poll that could be clouded by any number of issues, and will be decided by proxy anyway, is plainly arrogant. You are playing the man, not the ball, when you assume that I don't understand your love affair with votes. You opened the door.

You are also great at making assumptions. The acusation that I believe democracy doesn't work is purely fiction and assumption - and you quote a Kenedy election. Firstly, US presidential elections are as different from club elections as Brian Smith is from a premiership winning coach. Show me the national election from any nation that involves proxy voting for non submitted votes?????

You are as pro Smith as I am anti Him. Actually, that's in accurate. I'm not anti Smith - just anti him holding his current job. And to suggest that changing Smith for his replacement would change nothing is to believe that change doesn't work - which is utter rubbish. You fear change, and take great comfort in the fact that Parra will again fail just like it has for most of the years that you have supported them.

Tell me, when you trapse around the nation chasing Fitzy and his bike shorts, are you taking, or leaving, any kids behind? Or are you suggesting that kids be babysat for weekends on end, while a football passion is satiated? Quite frankly, your arrogance toward people whose lifestyle is to 'full' to attend every game, and whose only real outlet for discussion is the internet, is astounding.

I used to go heavily into bat for you a few years ago when people bagged you about your size. Going by your arrogance toward those of us who are less fortunate to have the ability to follow the club as you do, I wonder why I bothered. I really do.

Misty, you’re starting to sound like a person with a napoleon complex, I am not attacking you just your position.

I am not belittling this method, just saying it doesn't effect change in power. As you say in the last paragraph of your post, you have supported me on board when I was receiving personal attacks.

But when I was receiving personal attacks it was because I was using the message board to try and achieve a goal of the fans. That goal was to create a load proud singing supporters group. I was helping to get people to do something in real life and not just venting at the eels good or bad form.

Now you get to children, do I have any, well no none that I am claiming, and I most certainly didn't have any in 1998-1999 when I started with the Parraletics. I was younger then (22 to 23 years of age) and while not overly financially well off (I had car loans and a credit card debt and all) I still managed to make weekend away trips.

I know you have kids, you have said so in your post, but surely you didn't pop out of your mother’s womb with them. You must have had some time in your life when you didn't have children, and were local in Parramatta. What stoped you then?

On to Proxy Votes, you remind me of the 1999 Football club AGM where members were informed by members of the NPT to use a pen to put their vote down because if you used a pencil those in power can erase your vote. If you want to proxy a vote to get rid of the board, you don't submit it to the board, you submit it to the people you want to vote with. I am sure I will hear from Dr Malouf this year, you could proxy to him and his New Parramatta Team, to get what you want. But even at its height, the NPT lost the vote 2 to 1. Maybe they need more people like you to send them a proxy vote !?

On to change doesn't work. One positional change, the coach and I can already hear the reason we lose games in 2005 is the spectre of Brian Smith at the club. So you have to change more than the coach, you would have to change the Coach, the Assistant Coaches, Trainers, Conditioners, Gear Stewards, and Most probably a truck load of players. People don't rate players like Vella, Pearson and others, and if you change all that, and we are still losing it is because of the players Smith Signed to a long term contract like Michael Witt.

Also you sack Brian Smith right now and you free up $750,000 of our salary cap to negotiate elsewhere, it was well publicised in 2000 that Hindmarsh, Vella and Cayless all signed their contract together and all have a clause which says they can be released if the coach leaves. So you sack Smith you are also sacking Vella, Cayless and Hindmarsh. Who are you going to get to replace all these people?

That is where this discussion is leading so please tell us who do you have lined up for the coaching roll, the roll of captain, the roll of SOO 2nd rower, I am sure not just myself but the message board and then the football club board would be quite interested to hear about these replacements.

Suity, the night at Dicey's was huge, Gotta love the Telstra guy putting his Company Credit card on the bar.

But I was talking the night after when the girls and I went to the treasury casino. Liz stayed and watched me play for a while but Dimmy was the last one apart from me out of the casino and she was the last one I said good night to. They all went on to have a big night, except for Liz because Liz and I had breakfast while the rest of our Travelling companions slept.

:-({|=

For F**ks sake....read through your War & Peace drivel and this is the best that you can come up with ?

How the hell do you know that if we sack Smith, we are going to lose Cayless, Vella and Hindmarsh because they will use the clause and walk away from the mega-bucks that they are on ???( But hey, don't let that stop you making wild doom and gloom predictions if we let Smith go )

If ( and that means IF ) they want to walk out because we let go of a coach for performance based reasons...then let them go.
Use the money to get the decent players that want to win for the new coach.

It's common knowledge! that the clause is their contracts are there.

If your happy "Godfather" for it to be worst situation than now thats your perogative, personally I don't think it's the answer for a number of reasons and the clause in the contracts of three of our highest profile players is only one reason.

Duh #-o - I'm not denying that the clauses are there.

But how does anyone (apart from the players ) know whether they are going to use the clause should we decide to change the coach?????
Or eelavation, did you discuss this in your one-on-one chats with our beloved Brian and are aware of something we're not ?

It's very possible that Hindmarsh, Cayless, and Vella (until we piss the bludger off) will stay on and play under a new coach.
But some Smith supporters don't want us to be aware of this possibility.

I don't see how it can get any worse :(
Maybe we could lose by bigger margins but last time I checked there wasn't much below us on the ladder so at least we won't be falling much further

I am not saying that will leave Godfather, I am saying that we would have to renegotiate with them, and because the anti-tampering dead line has passed they could test the waters else where, all it would take is for a cashed up club to steal one of them for things to be worse.

Getting rid of Smith means we will have to renegotiate (big difference to sacking) with Vella, Cayless and Hindmarsh. We may have to replace them ONLY if they decide to use the clause in their contract.
