Yeah, I do remember those missionaries Ozbash. But the funny thing is they only visited my place once, then were never to be seen again ......... Hmmm, I wonder why ?
I apologise for barging in and saying whatI said a few posts up, but I really don't see the point of these actions.
Wouldn't it make more sense to spread the word/educate our not so informed Rugby League followers/supporters about our great game, rather than to disscuss/debate it with a jerk off who believes Rugby Union is god's gift to sport ?
That's the point I was trying to put across.
If there's one thing I've learnt about Union's pretentious class offollowers in my years, it's that they are as stubborn, obnoxiousand ignorant as a US Olympic swimming team. Not worth my time, in other words.
That's just my opinion on the matter ....... people can go ahead and do as they please.

Point taken Ainsy....some of us have spent time at sports.com and cnnsi.com, both general sports discussion boards....A bit of gentle persuasion doesn't hurt but, i don't go in there proclaiming the greatness of league, i much prefer the art of discreetly pointing out what is wrong with union...
2 many saints fans on this board! ;)
Stude, fair enough....they are largely an arrogant bunch, but the thing that gets me is that at the moment they have a huge 'bandwagon jumper' following. They have seemingly moved on from the swans to the waratahs/wallabies....if u scrape away the 'fickle union supporters', i still think that they don't have to large a following in Australia. Isn't it amazing that the bandwagon set seem to come from the eastern suburbs and north shore?? I remember a couple of years ago when the roosters attracted 37,000 to a game.. Some people are so fickle, its almost a flavour of the week situation, if you could fast forward 1/2 years i could almost guarantee you that the 'caffe latte' set from the eastern suburbs and north shore will have moved onto another past-time....

I view these sortie's into Union territory as much of a class warfare kind of thing. I don't mind if someone prefers to watch the inferior game; what irks me most about many of them (Particularly in England) is the class prejudice which is often evident in their arguments.

That is very much the division between us and them, it's a class ridden thing with sport as the battleground.

All the discussions we have about football on this site and the other sites we visit are really just about swopping opinions with others. It really doesn't make a difference.
Confronting the Union supporters with the realitythat is Rugby League is as good a way to get a flow of ideas goingback and forth as I have seen.
Chris674 got over 300 replies when he confronted us in our League site, and who can say they weren't stimulated by that discussion.
The Union supporters started by abusing us, but eventually got down to discussing the points of difference between the two codes and the future of both games.
These raids of ours create a lot of emotion and anger, but they also stimulate a lot of thought and interest.
I think the people who benefit most from our incursions are the people on the sites that we visit. People do not have to read our opinions and respond, but they do.
Do we do any good for Rugby League? I don't know. Maybe we break down a few prejudices and foster a bit of interest, and maybe we don't.
In the end, we are just in it to entertain ourselves, and I find raids on other sites very entertaining.

I agree Roopy...it is always entertaining, seeing the staunch supporters of union getting all riled up...LOL
I think crusade is a bit harsh...i agree with willow, lets go for mission in the future...it sounds all futuristic and stuff (relative to the word crusade - medievil terminology)....haha

Ah yes, MFC. I can see it now. To go where no man or woman has gone before. To explore, to seek out...
...to break the 'prime directive' in every episode.

I nominate 'away missions' as being the new term to replace 'crusades'.)
