Now that the big lad's gone and announced he's putting himself out to pasture with a couple of years in wishy-washy blue, we should cut him a little bit of slack. I'm calling for some reflection on the last three years, to come up with your all time favourite 'J-Moment'... We can even send Cuzzo the link so he can do a nice fluff piece on the official website before the season ends and J-Mo bolts...

My favourite part was when he said "it's also exciting to be coming to a club coached by Ricky Stuart and which has a good mix of quality young players, plus the likes of Paul Gallen, Anthony Tupou and Trent Barrett."

I think this loosely translates as "It's a crap state of affairs but it was the best my manager could do, considering what he's got to work with and all. I mean, not even the French would touch me, after all..."

Now it's your turn to share...

Yeah, not great form.

I'll remember him as a disastrous piece of coaching calamity but the best little man defender in the Tigers short history.

I'm gonna pay my respects too. The Sheens - J-Mo combination has provided fellow forumers such as myself countless entertaining threads. Reading the literary works of manonthehill and co have made me a better LU troll. Thanks J-Mo

i can't believe the tigers have let him go.

he's been easily your most committed player since his arrival at the club.

he's both dangerous with or without the ball & oppositions are understandably nervous when he's named in the side.

& he's been named in the side for 80 consecutive weeks - you don't get that sort of player passion anymore. unlike the other numpties who scratch a fingernail & sit on the sideline sponging from your coffers for weeks on end, j-mo puts in.

a premiership now beckons for the sharks.

you guys are screwed.

My favourite John Morris moment was his chip to Wes Naiqama that he dropped for Beau Ryan to pounce on, giving Cronky his first try assist for the season. Ironically the player that scored the try is possibly the only player in the side with less ability than J-Mo.

Superb defender. Not unusual to see 40 plus tackles per game - many crucial. Never quite knew his role in a post Prince team (Sheen's fault). Highly durable and extremely fit. Never gets injured. Unfairly derided for lack of ball skills when at the end of the day he was playing as an extra lock for a team of inflated touch footballers with little or zero understanding of basic defensive concepts. Forced to play around the entirely schizoid Marshall and a troubled Collis and impetuous Lawrence.

Got hung on the cross on boards like this due to simple hatred momentum.

Will probably do OK under Stuart - attack's not exactly the name of the game in the Shire.

Meanwhile, you guys need a new 5/8 and with that a new structure. Moltzen? Possibly, but if game breaking potential was there we would probably have seen it by now. Recruitment? What decent player in his right mind would venture to a basket case like WT?

Marshall at half was probably the stupidist decision made by a first grade coach in living memory. His place is obviously fullback. Sheens though, like Hitler at Stalingrad, through a combination of sheer ego and hubris cannot back down.

A shame. Meanwhile, quality players wither on the vine. Ask yourselves, how good would Tuaki, Ellis, Farrah etc go at a quality club like Brisbane?

nuff said.

As to Morris. RIP JoMo. He was a staunch and solid club man who played to the best of his ability.

As to who exactly is going to make those 45 tackles per game next year ...

... well you guys have all the answers. No doubt you'll let us know.

Liam Fulton. Better defender (doesn't miss many of the "crucial" tackles) and has 10 times the natural ability of Morris.

At the end of the day Morris always gave 100%, which is all you can ask him to do. Unfortunately he wasn't the person selecting him every week at 5/8 or halfback.

They're actually fun to watch at the moment. I haven't enjoyed many Sharks games in Stuart's tenure, bu right now they are far from the most dour attacking side in the comp.

I dunno, Bronson Harrison, the bloke currently carving it up in the backrow for Canberra, at prop and John Morris at 6 or 7 are hard to beat.

You mean the quality club that was beaten by Parramatta and has lost their last 4?

The quality club that signed Ben Te'o ?

They're not coached by Wayne Bennett any more.

As to Morris. RIP JoMo. He was a staunch and solid club man who played to the best of his ability.

If he's a quality clubman, why is he about to go to his 4th club?

He gives it his all, but he's all about the money.

Well, as Tiger Hawk has already said, Liam Fulton, with any luck. And the big thing with Liam is that he can actually pass the ball....

I don't blame Morris for the way he played, he's unidimensional and his coach, for some bizarre reason, couldn't see that. He isn't a half's arse. If Stuart plays him at Lock or Hooker, which I assume he will, he'll be an asset to the Sharks. Just don't let him kick, direct play, pass etc etc etc

It's unfortunate that this guy gets alot the bagging that Shames should be getting instead of him. J-Mo always put in for this club, but just couldn't cut the mustard. I'm greatful for the efforts he put in, but glad we let him go because he aint our Cooper Cronk. Sheens looks like a goose.

I remember a grubber he put in once that was slow and dribbled almost a metre straight into Sonny Bill Williams hands who then ran off and scored from memory.

one of my favs was against parra.

marshall puts up a towering bomb in the parra ingoal.

it bounces through haynes hands and lands directly infront of morris.

morris lost the ball mid air and looks around frantically for it.

in turning away from the ball to look for it he accidently kicks it 10 meters over the deadball line.

if he simply fell over he would have scored.

ahhhh the memories...

Brisbane always suffer during Origin. You know that. I was referring to an organisation with an embeded winning culture and the abilty to nurture and retain players. T'eo may have indeed been a mistake - grant you that. Would have been interesting to see how he might have gone under Bennett however.

As to Fulton. At the end of the day an 80kg lock forward, no matter what the skillset, is simply too small for NRL. As to his attacking capability, personally I was never that impressed. Like many in that team, he was made to look good by Prince.

As to Harrison at prop, I don't recall exactly but I beleive you were plagued by injury at the time (plus the Sheens obsession with the small forward theory - funny to think that he once had John Lomax and Quintin Pongia at his disposal).

Either way it was a tactical decision. The Marshall at half however was strategic. Hence the comment.

No, they don't always suffer during Origin.

They have in some seasons and not in others.

You know that.

Funny, didn't seem to bother Saints on the weekend and they had 5 Origin players.

Like Hannant, Eastwood and Stagg?

You should have said "had an embedded... etc"

T'eo may have indeed been a mistake - grant you that. Would have been interesting to see how he might have gone under Bennett however.

Te'o is rubbish. If Bennett signed him for the Broncos it was with the knowledge that he was going to Saints.

He's bigger than 80k.

Try again.

He's no Scott Prince, but he's no John Morris either.

As to Harrison at prop, I don't recall exactly but I beleive you were plagued by injury at the time (plus the Sheens obsession with the small forward theory - funny to think that he once had John Lomax and Quintin Pongia at his disposal).

We were, but it was no excuse for letting the bloke go. He spent most of last season at prop but was always a backrower used as a stop-gap. The fact that he's tearing it up at Canberra is a sure sign that he was misused by us. That comes down to the same thing as with Morris, dreadful coaching decision.

Either way it was a tactical decision. The Marshall at half however was strategic. Hence the comment.

Harrison was used at prop for more than a couple of weeks.

But to the point...

Morris was universally condemned because he was signed as a half, played at half and wasn't a halfback's arsehole. I know it, you know it, the cleaner at Airds High School knows it, but our coach doesn't apparently.
