You can try and generalise their actions as much as you like to try and justify your point, but the fact remains that one man preyed on another man - his equal. The other guy (I refuse to acknowledge him as a man) preyed on a woman. Anyone who preys on a woman or child is beyond redemption as far as I'm concerned and I don't want them in the Red V. Simple as that.
And to say that one was "rehabilitated" with a contract is written proof of how far you're willing to simplify this argument to prove a point. No-one has ever claimed he was "rehabilitated" with a contract. Firstly - he served jail time, his debt to society has been paid. Secondly, he's been sober since he committed the crime. Thirdly, he's undertaken counselling and is on the record showing genuine insight into his offending and the triggers behind it. His contract is his reward for his genuine effort to turn his life around, not his "rehabilitation".
FTR I am not defending what Packer did (I originally stated my opposition to his signing on this very forum) but since that time he has changed my mind and I believe he is worthy of a second chance.

ok thanks for clarifying..
so for the record...
Packer steals 2 cigarettes from a WOMAN.
the partner of the woman confronts Packer and asks why he stole from a WOMAN.
Packer King hits him and knocks him unconscious
Packer then stomps on the head of the unconscious man...
club offers him a contract.
AFB kicks his partner -
club sacks him
Dane Nielsen bites a woman on the leg
club sacks him
so you are more then ok for the inconsistency of the club in this regard?
you dont think the clubs decisions in any way were a result of who they do and dont want on their roster from a playing talent perspective?
Packer - NZ international
Nielsen - washed up
AFB - reportedly lazy trainer and unfit
surely youre not that dumb you cant see this?? the Bi-polar and inconsistent response from the club is directly related to playing talent they want on the roster and not the offence.
if clubs were really serious about morales and ethics than Todd Carney would have been long gone from the game..
