There's news today that Brisbane are affronted Cronulla had the temerity to announce Bird was leaving that particular club yesterday.

This disquiet coming from the Broncos is slightly amusing considering it had no qualms parading a young Anthony Mundine at a press conference 20-years ago, resplendid with a birthday cake and a football jumper while STILL being contracted to St. George.

Additionally, this was the same club that also actually encouraged Gorden Tallis to renege on a VALID contract with the Dragons around the same period. From memory, Tallis was the miscreant who 'presented' Mundine with his cake and new playing jersey while a laughing, adoring, and approving Wayne Bennett looked on.

This poor, miserable, narcissistic excuse of a football club has just set a new low benchmark in hypocrisy.
This post should be on the Broncos Forum and Wayne should be forced to read it. So many people fed up with all the advantages the Broncos are provided, with TPAs and their perennial free weekends!

Oh well, at least we do not have to whinge about losing a player we wanted to keep. Anyway all I can say to the Cronulla-Sutherland supporter is ..............................

Bye Bye Birdie Goodbye.

LOL!!! After the shit I copped after advocating Marketo as the club's best 'utility' player before the season began, I'm certain you can imagine the verbal diarrhoea should my post reach Brisbane ears.

Mind you, the truth hurts a fair bit.

Will go through his career as a mercenary

Perhaps.

If he next goes to the stormcheats and then the bullgrubs he will have his juniors clubs most hated rivals covered.

He's halfway there and still in his early 20's!

Well on his way...

Yes, but it could have all been avoided if the Dragons just said YES to his request for a first grade spot. The only sticking point was Mary's pride in refusing to do so.

Bye, Bye Bird. When the Broncos shop you around down the track, tell them to leave the Dragons off the list.

Bird is solid and aggressive in all aspects of the game. He's NOT overly elusive or quick, strong for his size but not big. Don't blame him one bit for cashing in as his career may be shortened by his arthritic condition.
All things said and done Broncs got Jack Bird and we've got Ben Hunt. (insert smiley emoji)

Here we are today trying to sign Widdop who wants in excess of 850k when Brisbane got Bird for 700k plus TPA. Brisbane no how to use the system and they have their TPA agency set up nicely. What is stoping the Dragons doing something similar?

We are not one team one town.
Much easier for brisbane
We are the only first grade team in the gong. More importantly we are the Dragons with a long and proud history. Given that clubs have to keep arms length from any TPA arrangements, it should not make an ounce of difference.

WIN could easily help arrange for one of it's business customers to provide a TPA to Dugan and Widdop. Who is putting any effort into this task?
