His reasons are sound. Nevertheless. PNG made the approach.
World Cup has been pushed out to 2025. So the horse has probably bolted for JDB, unlikely he's still a chance to be in the Australian squad.

What happened to the world cup being played in October when was that cancelled

It is scheduled to be played in October-November 2025.
It was never cancelled. Where are you getting that from?

It was postponed.
I never said it was cancelled
I asked you the question after you said it wasn’t on until 2025.
I knew it was postpone as per my first post "what happened to the world cup being played in October"
You were the one with the incorrect info.

Obviously I misread it when you said...

More of a misunderstanding. But I already noted that and thanked Draginzaaar for the correction. I was focussed on the 2025 RLWC in France, which has also been pushed out. Gripping stuff, eh?

Thanks for that. I've been focussed on the French RLWC because I'm planning on going to that. I suspect JDB would still rate himself a chance to be in this year's squad.
Old Trafford is a huge stadium. Have you seen RL in England before?
Hi Willow, no I have never seen RL in England. We bought the tickets before the postponement, but kept them in case we could still go. Looking forward to it very much. Staying in London and Wigan for 3 weeks all up.

If you get a chance, visit Wembley where the Rugby League statue is.
I understand they're not playing any games there for the WC but it's worth seeing. Remember this is soccer heartland and they have a statue there to immortalise RL. I saw the Challenge Cup Final there in 2016.
And afterwards, you can head down to the Green Man Pub for a refresher.

Also, if you're in Wigan, you're not all that far from Huddersfield. Unfortunately the George Hotel (birthplace of Rugby League) is closed but I understand they have a RL museum in the basement - you might want to check that. Ask about Harold Wagstaff (1914 'Rourke's Drift' captain), he's a bit of a legend in Huddersfield. I vaguely recall there was a plaque or memorial of some sort on his old house.
Afterwards, the place for refreshments is over the road in the Railway Station, they have an excellent pub there that opens onto the railway platforms.

De Belin is adjusting to his new role in the front row. This move will see him climb back into SOO consideration in 2023 while simultaneously solving a big problem at the Dragons. One more top-grade prop should work well to solve the Dragon's issues in the middle. Lawrie's performance last game was a big surprise to me. I really did not know he had it in him.

A run-on pack of Molo, Hunt, De Belin, Burns, Su'A, and Bird may just work. Although I do have reservations about Bird's ability in the forwards; especially in defense.

Thanks Willow, I'll try to check those places out.

a) The detective has been found guilty but HIS name is concealed and HIS family are not photographed and published in the daily rags and on the internet

b) Medically retired. Abused his position as a police officer to try to destroy a man's life but he still walks off with his pension and, who knows, perhaps even disability benefits.

The Dragons should receive compensation for their destroyed 2019 year from the NRL because of their Nazi based stand down rules , the Debelin distraction ended up causing a lot of issues for the team that year it culminated in the Dragons loosing Debelin for 2 seasons during his peak and also loosing Tyson Frizzell the dragons best back rower

JDB and his cousin should receive costs and massive compensation. The NSW police are a disgrace they lied in a sexual assault case against my son and admitted to signing a false statemen. The jury found him not guilty in 5 minutes. You can get no costs or compensation, they destroy lives and don’t give a shit. His cousins parents had to sell their home to fund his defence. You never want to get mixed up in the criminal justice system.

This is where Saints and JDB can sue the NRL for immediately assuming he was guilty and creating a rule to stand him down after the event. Putting a rule in place after it took place you can say JDB knew the punishment and deserved what he got but this was introduced after the incident. NRL just assumed he will be found guilty and not need to worry about it hence was their confidence that he will be jailed.

The justice system is what it is, but the NRL not showing the necessary support until proven guilty is disgraceful and should be called out. No sporting code make decisions like that on a player until the court case is finalised. They can blame the press for throwing his name out as many times as possible to put pressure on them to react, but hey the NRL can easily put a rule that all players going through a court process have a strict media ban until all is sorted with the courts.

Last year there was a rumour a well known Qld player was charged for a similar thing as JDB (just before origin), and nothing was said afterwards. No name mentioned at all. That is how JDB's case should have been handled.

In the end JDB is no angel and he still cheated behind his pregnant wife so I am not supporting his behaviour, far from it, just how it was handled by the NRL and the press especially.

The QLD rumour was wrong though .. when the name was released it turned out to be Bruce Lehrmann not a QLD player. It was just assumed based on words like QLD and high profile that it was .. esp considering a QLD player was being stood down over other things.

The actions of the police officer were procedural not evidence based. He didnt lie about the investigtaion of facts etc rather how he came to access some information.
