There was no doubt about the fan fare by some in this place re their signings and the subsequent push back against those that questioned them
Time will tell as to this being a good or great signing and I wish him well in the big red v but still question the value of it

Graham's probable acquisition is only a short term move by the club and Millward. A three-year contract for a 32-year old is excessive in my opinion, but there's no doubt he has beneficial leadership skills. Let's hope, in hindsight, he won't be remembered as someone who became a Dragon simply to receive one last pay deal.

Yep his leadership will be invaluable.
I don't think we've had a leader up front like this since Craig Young!

Fair call.

Yeah, don't know if it's a great signing but it's a very solid and astute signing in my opinion. He's a good team man and his leadership and experience are of intangible value, and something I think we lack. I also think he's got a couple of years of very good football in him if used well by the coach. We don't need another ball playing prop, the occasional offload is fine. We need a hard working, tough and uncompromising prop. Someone to take a bit of pressure of Vaughan and offer a point of difference to Ah Mau. I'm loving the look of our pack next year. Let's hope one or two of the young blokes kick on next season too. I'm tipping Host to have a breakout season.

Agree 100% with your comments, graham wont be at his absolute ball playing best due to age but everything you mentioned will better the loss of packer. Its funny how the dogs fans are now saying grahams washed up and hopeless !! Our pack is looking good now for a speedy back

Wow! He's scored 9 try's for us even before the season start.
I'd be happy with that!!!
Apparently it is the way of the world these days with the sweet science of Algorithms.
Someone has entered our strongest 17 man squad on computer for next season, our style of play and and all other relevant data, they run the complex calculations and bingo the programs spits out whatever information you are seeking!
According to Mickeylane Stats Don't Lie, it will be interesting to know if the Dragons will improve on-
1. Top 4 in defence ?
2. Top 4 in Attack ?
3. Top 3 in most metres gained ?
4. Top 3 in points differential ?
5. No. 1 in offloads- this oneis taken care of!
6. Top 4 in completion rates ?
The most important stat of ALL our position on ladder?

I'm not convinced about signing graham.
But at least it stops us going for Blair, fair dinkum, I watched him in the Broncos game, if there's a bigger grub and cheap shot artist in the game I havnt seen him

Geaham has two things those two don't. Heart and guts
Heart and guts sure so did Billy Smith who played at least 2 years too many.
The reason for my post was to point out how easily excited they become about all incoming players.
Ido you remember the hype around Masoe?
I hope this thread doesn't turn out that way.

JG is a good player but I don't like the way he plays. He is slow and runs a bit sideways. Good player but I like hard and straight running forwards.

Bulldogs captain James Graham joins local rivals the Dragons
Paul Crawley, The Daily Telegraph
September 3, 2017 1:04pm
INSPIRATIONAL skipper James Graham will play his last game for the Bulldogs today against the club he will join next season.

After months of speculation the 31-year-old has finally agreed to join St George Illawarra on a three-year deal taking him through until the end of 2020.

While it is understood Graham is yet to officially sign the deal, the announcement will be made next week following the last round clash.

Graham joined the Bulldogs in 2012 after a distinguished career at St Helens in the UK Super League and played in two grand finals for the Belmore club.
