He's like a poor mans Matthew 'The U-Turn' Utai. The way I see it, we have two gaps in our 1-5 for next year.
1. Lolohea
2. Nofoaluma
3. Suli
4. Mr X
5. Mr Y

If Fonua fills one of those spots, we need another good outside back. Anyone got any ideas? MWZ & Thompson are good depth options but I'd prefer we sign someone who isn't a seasoned NSW Cup player.

I'd like to think we have a red hot crack at Milne from the Dragqueens, a fairly solid/strong centre and has proven himself in grade.

If not, Marsters I don't think is a bad choice in the centres provided he gets blooded into the team this year for a bit of experience

I'd have MWZ on the other wing. Very similar player to his brother in that he runs like a freight train

If we somehow don't get Lolohea I'd like to see this backline

1. Nofoluama
2. Fonua
3. Suli
4. Milne/Marsters
5. MWZ
6. Renoylds
7. Brooks

I know on paper they don't have the wealth of experience but what those outside backs do have is speed, size and aggression something we've lacked a lot of

I'd like to see a backline like this. We really need a gun fullback. Hopoate to me is the only guy off contract who will fill the role.

I'd resign Idris and play him as the right edge backrower. We'd have a right edge of Suli, Idris and Nofo. The left edge wouldn't be anywhere near as good but I'd play Lawrence as the edge backrower. Hopefully we sign Fonua and he is good. I've picked him there because supposedly he is a big hard running winger. I assume one of those guys I've mentioned will be able to fill in the left centre spot.

If we got Roberts though we'd have two gun centres. I'd probably prefer to get Hopoate though. I reckon getting a fullback is more important and the guys listed at centre will do the job.

Now the Foran to the dogs is offical lets hope they are forced to offload some quality rather than the ageing over the hill Eastwood.

Our recruitment seems to have hit the wall, a lot of players that seemed certainties now seem to have gone cold on us. We certainly need a few more real quality signing apposed to depth signings

Idris no longer has the speed or the agility or engine to play in the back row. Sadly I doubt he will come back at NRL level. The whispers coming out of the club before his injury, were he was not in their 2018 plans. I actually thought his game was getting better every week, but against a good fast backline he was in a lot of trouble

He doesn't have the pace at the moment to be in the centres but he can hit and he is a big body that can make a bust or attract players.

I reckon he is exactly what we need in the backrow. He is an impact player.

I'm not really worried about players not signing at this point but I agree that we need some quality for next year. We also need some depth.

I think we only need a couple more quality signings though and we have a good squad. Packer and Hopoate would be great. If we don't get those guys then we have to get some other players to fill those roles. We also need some depth as well.

Dugan would do the job at fullback as well but I'd prefer Hopoate.

Agreed. I'm starting to really warm to Hopoate. He was an absolute beast against the Raiders.

He's still on 26 and just now starting to hit his straps after his Mormon mission.

He just needs to commit to Sunday's and I'm totally on board.

I really hope we can get Hopoate and a commitment that he will play Sundays. Put it in his contract and make him swear on the Book of Mormon that he will put in 100% on Sundays
