Wake me up when there are no more Jamie Lyon threads.

OK...I'll start one about how good it feels to finish 12th.

Some people feel that constant venting is like exorcism....don't read them if it bugs you.

This is the first one out of 100000000 posts of Jamie Lyon threads, Ive posted in.

Can we move on, hes not at the club anymore.

Yes, we can move on as we always do.

But we'll NEVER let him forget what he did to us.

Do you here me dictating that i do or do not condone free speech? Or is just a fantasy that you concocted within your own absurd mind? And i find you highly hypocritical seeing as though you imply that i am not allowing other people free speech and it is my understanding that you believe jamie lyon to be a bad person or whatever for leaving parramatta, so i ask you: what happened to freedom fullstop? And may i remind you that free speech is not given directly as a right under the australian constitution, merely under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and is actually defined as freedom of opinion and expression.

Not wanting to get into an argument regarding freedom of opinion and expression, however many vent their feelings in regards to the whole Lyon saga in their own way.

When it first happened many were supportive of Lyon. How the whole saga has ended up have turned many from this point of view. Many of us only know what has been played out in media outlets all across Austyralia and the rest of the world and quite simply it has left a bitter taste in the mouths of many. As has been pointed out to me and many others on many occassions - if you have a strong view one way or another in regards to matters thats your perogative, please don't criticise others for their rights to expression and opinion.

And one your entitled to. However intially you weren't alone, when this first happened I think you will find that many here were extremely supportive of Jamie's decision to leave when his reasons for doing so first came out. Since that time however as the story has played itself out culminating in the footage of him at the Manly v Melbourne game many opinions of a person, who was perceived as a fine young footballer and person in general have changed. Its definitely not fickle, and even his most ardent supporters have now changed their opinions of him.

I'll address the bolded point in your sermon and leave the rest alone as I, quite frankly, am not interested in addressing it....

He signed a contract....aspects of freedom disappear when you sign a contract.

Apparently they are legally binding..although not binding enough as seen in recent times.

I stuck up for him when he hit the toe to "find himself". I was being sympathetic to someone who told us "I've had a gutful of city life...give me the country any day". One of my first posts when the news came through after Round 1 was "that he didn't owe us anything...he certainly didn't owe me anything". If he wanted to give the game away, in an NRL capacity, then we all should leave him be and get on with it.

It is apparent now that he has dudded us....Parramatta, his teammates, you, me. And his appearance at Manly the other day confirms that he has dudded us.

I'm upset about the situation because in the words of John Lennon "all i want is the truth...just gimme some truth".

I, plus all of the others on this board including yourself I presume, stuck and keep sticking with the club. 24 of the 25 in our first grade squad managed to stick with the club this year after Round 1.

I'm sorry for being loyal....believe me it would be a lot easier on me if I supported Brisbane.

des, I have to back up Bellys Point,

But for me it runs deeper,

What more can any of us trade on than our word, and reputation.

My Word is that I will do something and if I don't my reputation may see my word not worth anything.

Jamie gave his word, and in the end said I have had a gutful of the City. For a poor country boy I can see that.

We start hearing rumours, partially put out from the 2GB continuos call "All Manly need now is a good outside back and I can see one of those coming shortly" - Blocker Roach round 8 this year.

Then he wants a complete release to play for Wee Waa, we offer a partial saying, if you want to Play NRL you play with us, anything under NRL that we are not into, suit yourself (basically)

Then Last week, he turns up at Brookvale, and at one time has a Manly Jersey draped over him.

So all in all, has the intent been true, or has it been Jamie going back on his word "I am only a country boy and want out of the City". I am sorry to say that manly is more city than Parramatta is.

The Truth may be that Jamie, Noel Cleal and Jamie’s Manager, orchestrated this from the middle of the off season, to have Jamie Playing for Manly in the middle of the year. It didn't work because we took Jamie at his word. We Gave him a shot at what I would think were Contra Deals at Penrith, Canberra and any other Outside of Sydney club, but no, he wants to be with his mates in Manly, and if he had said that from DAY 1 when he walked out, Fitzy's response would have been, You signed a contract, no way no how.

Jamie does not want to be at Parramatta, for whatever the reason, bottom line is that he is not willing to give his all for the Eels.

Do we want

a) Jamie to see out his contract, but not put the effort in. Takes the big dollars, bludges, and walks away in a couple of years with a lot of money.

b) Jamie pisses off now, we use the money to get decent players and those juniors that are willing to give it their all for the Eels ?

Jamie Lyon is a fat penis, an unloyal inverted nipple who has as much common sense as a dog mounting it's self on a nice Italian Leather couch.

Oh please, get a life des or whatever the f**k you called, he's an unloyal urine specimen, an next time i go to the toilet to lay a turd i'll bid him fairwell & good day kind sir!.

Jamie heading to England is like a grog bog heading to Bondi, atleast the grog bog served a purpose!

Mate, I assume that I can speak for everyone that if Jamie just had came out and said from day one, "I'm not happy here. I want to play for Manly. Can I get a release?", things would be different.

We would still be bitter, but at least he had the guts to come out and say it.

I don't know why people are still defending the prick.

While I generally wouldn't trust as manager as far as I could throw one, I think Jamie's manager ended up pretty disillussioned by the whole thing too....had some pretty harsh words for Jamie in the end (and no I don't believe he was just pissed at losing money because I believe he still got a cut of the St Helens deal money).

I think the only people not pissed with Jamie over the whol thing are Manly.....geez even Jamie's parents were supposedly telling him to go back to Parra early on....maybe they realised there was something a bit underhanded going on
