Jarryd Hayne buggers off from NFL

The next lot of cuts are September. They are only in the voluntary part of the training schedule.

They just cut the squad to 90 after the draft, if he had no shot he would have been gone already.

It all seems weird to me too but to assume he was told in May that he won't make it in September seems strange.

I know all that, but surely he must have read the writing on the wall.

Maybe Kelly wasn't quite ready to ditch him yet, but also wasn't sold on him either.

Also, maybe he told him he had no chance at RB, and PK/PR was his only chance. Which wouldn't be what Hayne would want.

Re-signed this year. Reckon he would be on more then the minimum next year.

Given he hasn't played anything above 9s then I doubt he would be on much more than minimum if even. He may as Gussy111 says be on bonus/match payments arrangement, but then if he is, he only has significant impact if he is playing 1st grade, and if he is playing 1st grade that means he's good enough to crack our top 17 (or we got bad injuries) and that is a good thing.

Bevan would not be on MIN. He would of signed a contract where if made first grade he gets this much etc.... From a young age players of BEVANS quality would attract interest. Their managers do not sign them on MIN wage.

Bevan is not big enough for wing.Would offer nothing.Guys have winged Gordons to small for wing.

If you signed Hayne it would be for 2-3 years. Bevan turns 21 before next season kicks off. Are you sure he is going to wait for first grade if good enough till he is 23/24?

Send him to the dogs and let them reap what we sowed.

Size is only a problem on kick returns/hit up after return. If we signed Hayne, we'd have 2 of biggest kick returners in game (the other being Semi). Opposition may then kick more to French but he's fairly good under high ball, plus size isn't everything for kick returns. Sam Perrett isn't exactly T-Rex size but he's a good returner of the football.

As long as he is on contract, he waits as long as you ask him to. Plus as I said Hayne doesn't automatically preclude French.

And why would you send him off to some other team without getting any return when he is under contract for next 2 seasons? You would only do so if other team took his entire contract which means either he isn't good enough to crack your top 17 or you need to shed his money (if a player yet to play 1st grade is taking up a significant part of your cap, someone f**ked up)

I started reading this thinking 'oh Hindy's being a bit harsh about some annoying opposition fans', then I realised that the gentlemen in question actually had a disability. This could be part of the NRL's next ad campaign.

Ethier he comes back to Parra or goes to a team like the Knights or Titans a team that's struggling, if he goes to a big club like the dogs, roosters or Broncos then it is full proof that the NRL is a massive joke.

Think I'd give the game away if Jarryd goes to the Roosters or a club like them. This game just does a great job of compromising itself so much and there is no sign of it getting better.

I'd love to see Hayne play behind a decent pack with decent halves. He was the best player in the comp and he was constrained by the eels or the Blues. Look at the 2009 squad. Fui (& maybe Grothe) was probably the only other decent player in the team.

Aslong as he did not sign with Roosters or dogs or Manly i would not be bothered.

The roosters if sign him id lose respect for the game. Would feel like the rich kids got one over the westies once again.

I am only being honest when i say i have interests in other sports. Including AFL and GWS. I do not know how you loyal supporters only follow one code. Geesh
