Why? Surely an U20s player who signed couple of years back isn't on more than minimal amount? And it's not like Hayne stands completely in front of French. French could play wing, Hayne could play centre, French could spend another season playing NSW Cup thus not drastically increasing his value the year before his contract is up EDIT: except he's signed through 2018If sign Hayne may as well cull Bevan - Maybe Dogs can sign him up.

Then signed by NASA to go on the ISS
Then PM of Fiji
They both signed through 2018 and at the moment we have 2 players signed for 2019 plus so far Hayne is only going to Rio, we've got some wiggle room if and when it comes to re-signing Semi/FrenchWe need to keep French when Semi leaves.
There will be big demands for Semi. Teams will offer him to play in other positions to attract him.
According to lawyers with far greater knowledge of the issue than Richard Ings – because they deal with player eligibility on a daily basis – Hayne can agree to be placed in a "testing pool" that would see him subjected to stringent testing in the lead-up to the Olympics.
Beavis says Fijian Rugby had told him Hayne had been "cleared" to play in the Olympics but at the time of writing was seeking clarification from the governing body.

Richard Ings is the bloke who trumpeted the headline that the peptides affair was the darkest day in Australian sport.
You'll forgive me if I don't rush to believe his story.

Wayne Beavis on 2SM. been talking to Fiji for 2 weeks. He was sweet in NFL. Wanted another challenge. Not about the money, Open to ideas after Olympics has been assured he will be in squad with no problems.
What happend to the NFL challenge? It was not exactly completed. Sounds like Bull$hit. Id say he was tapped on shoulder.

Here's how I think it went..
Hayne gets wind that he's slipping down the roster sheet, may get cut at the next cut.
Gets Beavis to call Fiji to see if a 7's spot would be possible, as an olympic medal would be cool. Beavis gets the high sign from Fiji that they'd give Hayne a spot if he was willing
Hayne talks to Chip Kelly, asks if he's going to be cut, Kelly says yeah, probs...
Hayne announces "retirement" to play 7's for Fiji in a "Bold move to chase his dream".
Can't speak for Bart, but it wouldn't piss me off.I'd love us to sign Hayne just to piss Bart/Phantom off........
