I only posted the article after you suggested that I couldn't explain why Roberts and Cecchin had no problems. I have now given you several examples of issues that Roberts had.

My 'claim' was actually just an observation based on many years of interacting with football supporters. You chose to ignore my original observation in favour of a "why did Roberts/Cecchin have no problems" approach which now looks rather foolish given evidence to the contrary.

Yes, it is my observation that compared to normal society, rugby league fans often are the 'dregs' and they typically have less teeth and less tolerance. There are always exceptions but these exceptions often prove the rule. You are not one of the exceptions.

I don't think they were very tolerant of Roberts. That merkin was brave. With Cecchin the community has appeared to be tolerant, at least publicly. But on rugby league messageboards or in the privacy of our own homes while we beat our wives I reckon plenty of rugby league fans are less than tolerant of Cecchin.

What I actually said was that the rugby league community is likely to be less tolerant than broader society when it comes to issues around sexuality.
