I think the only player who we want to offload who is on a low enough salary that another club would be interested in would probably be French. But I'm only saying that because I doubt he's on that much. I think the rest are all on stupid money, and this is probably demonstrated that we're apparently close to the cap limit with a petty average roster.

The only reports I read were here from @emjaycee which were the other way around - Hayne wants one year and club wants two. And I suspect the club wants two for the reason you suggest, backending is the only way they have to offer something reasonable.
