The revelations come two days after Hayne handed himself in to police, who charged him with aggravated sexual assault.

Police will allege the former Parramatta Eels fullback was intoxicated when he went to the house north of Newcastle, which the woman shared with her mother, on the Sunday night of the NRL grand final. The woman's mother was at home at the time of the alleged incident.

Hayne was allegedly drinking in the Newcastle or Central Coast area before he travelled in a taxi to visit the woman with whom he had been communicating on a social messenger app.

Once there, it is alleged he asked the taxi to wait about 20 minutes.

Police allege he sexually assaulted the woman, ripping off her clothes and biting her on her genitals, drawing blood.

It is believed that Hayne then travelled in the same taxi back to Sydney.

The Herald understands the woman suffered severe injuries from the bite wound and sought medical treatment the following day.

The Herald also understands Hayne was then seen drinking with another NRL player at the Merrylands Bowling Club, about 3am on Monday.

Jarryd Hayne was believed to have been drinking at the Merrylands Bowling Club, hours after the alleged incident at Newcastle.

Hayne's legal team should contact the police and tell them that if they keep leaking the alleged details and playing this matter out in the media then somehow the alleged victims name may find itself leaked.

He doesn't have to prove he never showed up. Just create reasonable doubt that it wasnt consensual

The police are the ones who have to prove it wasnt consensual.

You'd imagine there is some text messages that will cloud the issues

see this sort of gutter journalism really pisses me off, all other allegations aside they are just trying to smear his name because he was still drinking at 3 AM,

who the f**k leaks this stuff, its not relevant to the allegations its just mud throwing and no doubt some of ti will stick

In reality, he shouldn't have put himself in such a precarious position in the first place. High profile sport players should know that by now considering the digital world we all have access to. It just confirms that most football players are better at football than tick tac toe.

yeh I agree with that and not defending Hayne, but.........

the media bang on about the public has a right to know, but they dont have a right to know what he is doing 24 hours a day (or more like they probabaly dont care) as its not relevant to the allegations and charges against him, its just mud raking or the media showing they have an agenda which is not what the public has a right to know about

it's the only logical explanation and all through these articles they mention what they are going to say happened

could have been a friend of the family, employee of the court, or police station, the taxi driver, taxi driver's mate, one of Hayne's mates who he told after a few beers or anyone else that may have inside knowledge that we don't know about

Unfortunately, once a person becomes a public identity they become fair game as far as the media is concerned, even on here, though to a lesser extent. The higher the profile, the more advertising space the media gets to fill when it comes to digging up the best dirt. I'm personally over how many forests have been cut down relating to JH. But, there's more to follow and the media are along for the free ride. I'm expecting a dental test to see if the teeth marks match. Here Jarryd, can you bite this apple?
