Judging by her sentencing remarks thats exactly why hes ended up with a long stint

I worked in Criminal defence and even I got a bit of a satisfaction out of clients who failed to show remorse or contrition eating shit in sentencing.

Like seriously, there are so many simple little things to do to get your sentence reduced and it seems like the Hayne Plane just wasn't interested in several of them.

I know Peter Fitzsimmons is a bit of a polarising character, but the article he wrote this arvo highlighted something thats always bugged me.
Whenever phone transcripts are released of NRL bad boy bullshit, theres never any remorse, or the guy on the other line trying to pull the player up on the bad behaviour.
Nobody wants to confront their mate or call them out, and i think that highlights a massive issue amongst these dopes...they are too dumb to know they are doing bad things.

The only reason I can think of for using his love for the bible as a kind of defence would be that the victim is an adult and female. If it was a 12 year old boy then it's pretty much an admission of guilt.

He knew he was going away today, he wouldn’t have been surprised.

Based on what he said about his innocence, he may be thinking of himself as the victim. And with that, significant internal anger at others.
