No worries.
It's a good reason to start checking it out though. I've heard more people talking about NFL in the past 6-7 months than I have ever. Just about everyone is coming up to me and asking "So, do you think Hayne is going to make it?"
It really has raised the interest level of the sport in this country.

Oh yeah everyone is talking about it. To be honest though, it does not interest me.

There's a good chance of Hayne getting to play in some of the preseason games.
There are 4 of them:

August 15 vs Houston
August 23 vs Dallas
August 29 vs Denver
September 3 vs San Diego

Chances are I will be watching these games, so if he plays I will let you all know how he goes.

Thanks.

There's a chance I will read your posts if you do, and if he does.

I'm getting excited

How many are actually in the squad right now?

From what I understand he's competing against 4 other running backs but his best chance is punt return?

I think it cuts down to just over 50 soon. Can't see him being running back unless they give him a shot in the trial and he shows something special. In saying that we had 3 or 4 running backs injured at the end of last season

Well done, Jarryd.
http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/jarryd-hayne-apologises-for-jews-killed-jesus-tweets-20150715-gid3ij.html

Former NRL player Jarryd Hayne has apologised for suggesting the Jewish people were responsible for killing Jesus, acknowledging his words were "hurtful".
The 27-year-old - who is trying out in the US National Football League for the San Francisco 49ers - tweeted on July 1: "Jesus wanted to help people but was killed by his own people." He later added: "The Jews were the people who took him to the Romans n forced them to give the order because they couldn't."
Jewish leaders condemned the comments as anti-Semitic and dangerous, because they dredged up an old historical myth about the Jews being responsible for the death of Jesus - a narrative the Vatican and most Christians had long ago abandoned.

Hayne published an apology on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, addressed to the Jewish community.
"I sincerely apologize for my tweets on July 1. I have come to understand how my words were hurtful to the Jewish community and this was not my intention. I immediately took the tweets down once I realized my words were incorrect," he said.
"I have and will always accept people of all faiths. I encourage my fans around the world to do the same."

Hayne did nothing wrong but tell the truth. The Jews did condemn Jesus to his death. It's a fact.

As a sport and general entertainment the nfl shits on the nrl.

You have obviously never been to a game live, it is excruciatingly slow

On TV it comes up OK , as they run replays and explain the blocks etc, but having lived in the States and gone to a few games, it is not the best viewing unless you can spot the plays. - the constant changing of players and time outs etc drives you nuts live

I haven't been to an NFL game yet, but I did go to a college game.
Not even a top tier college, but a second tier college - and it was great. Not having the commentary didn't bother me, and plenty to keep me occupied during breaks in play (although most of that was due to my two young nephews who kept asking questions).
Great atmosphere. Crowd really gets into it. Luckily it was a close game, because normally the team I was supporting (UC Davis) are shit.

Come on Baz. The People in that region who practiced Judaism at the time.

The point he is making is that it wasn't collectively 'the Jews' but it was partly some of the Jewish religious leaders and, if you want to be pedantic, it was the Romans.

What I meant mate, was that as far we know, it was a small group of Jewish leaders (who felt their power threatened) who turned him over to Pilate and said 'deal with him'. It wasn't 'the Jews', it was 'some Jews'. Jesus and his disciples were also members of 'the Jews', as were many thousands of people at the time who no idea of his existence, let alone had an opinion on his divinity.
