You guys should just lay off Jarryd.
He only made up his mind on Monday and he is "just a kid with a dream".
Leave him alone you merkins, remember he has friends on this site too.

I could [eventually] tolerate him leaving the way he did.

But him blowing smoke in the NFL's arse and belittling our code...

f**k him. The guy has no class.

Glad you didn't miss my sarcasm dude.

I picked up on the sarcasm - I'm just so angry.

He leaves? Eh - what do you do.

He trains in secret for months? Um...ok. A bit devious and dodgy, but ok.

He thought about leaving two years ago? Erm...his head isn't at the Eels, clearly.

He watches more NFL than NRL, and he's "tired of being the go-to guy at the Eels"? Ok - f**k him, then.

Here's hoping the Poo is right about hayne leaving.

Hopefully the hayne stains toxic influence will be gone by 2015 and new leaders emerge.

No matter what happens in coming years i can see experts and media questioning if we could win without hayne.

If it is in fact his dream to play nfl, I hope he never returns to the eels. What a Shittt thing to say!!!!

I would make him pay out the final year of his contract like $BW was forced to

He completely disrepects the club, the fans and the game, and from my point of view - worst of all- the kids who worshipped him

I cannot put into words thresher anger I feel for his actions and what he has said, he is an absolute self centred f**kstick, I would be happy in a sense if we never heard of him again. Makes the actions of SBW look like a chicory. The press wile at this up for a long time, geez I detest the bloke

Worst of all, I was on an IPad and didn't go back to recheck the recheck of the amendment :)

Let us now commit to our best player and only current State of Origin representative: William Hopoate. Put him at fullback and re-sign him for 3 years.

The "life time contract" talk is all lip service to try and paint a picture that Hayne as doing the right thing. It's all crap. If Hayne does come back, and I don't think he will, it will be to the highest bidder with the best chance at a premiership

Now to the more pressing issue. What is the club going to do with that gigantic Hayne photo in the club?
I don't believe the 'life time contract' bullshit either.
The one thing he hasn't achieved in league is a premiership so it makes sense that if he returns it will be to the club that gives him the best chance to do so - just like SBW.
On reflection, we are losing a player and captain who doesn't believe in his team mates, club and coach. There is no way he would leave now if he thought we were a chance of winning a premiership next year. Hayne believes in himself but he doesn't believe in anyone else and you can't have a leader that doesn't believe in those he is leading.
I reckon the reason that this decision was so hard is because he knew he was doing the wrong thing not because of some fear of failure.
As for the gigantic photo of Hayne, I would take it down ASAP. I wonder also if it affects the membership brochures etc for next year? I'm sure there are a lot of other headaches Hayne has caused the club by not having the decency to give some notice.

I'd play hoppa at fullback, considering hoppa would be on decent money.

Would probably be a cheaper alternative to buy a decent centre as well. Allowing us to pick up a disgruntled forward or two between now and 2015 kick off.

Surely we'd be in the market for a top line half as well.
