49ers Announce Inactives for MNF vs. Vikings

The Hayne Plane is all set for takeoff.

Following a week of uncertainty leading up to the game, Jarryd Hayne's name was not included among the San Francisco 49ers announced list of inactive players on Monday night.

The former Australian rugby league star will make his NFL regular season debut against the Minnesota Vikings.

In four preseason games, Hayne led the 49ers with 175 rushing yards. He also averaged 18.1 yards per punt return on nine attempts.

Earlier this week, Jim Tomsula told reporters that Hayne's status would come down to the first-year player's versatility.

"Very confident in his ability to field a punt, but again, how much else can you do? What can you do for the team?” Tomsula said. “The things that we’re doing this week, do they fit your skill set? That’s where that all comes down to in my head."

Another key takeaway from the inactives list was Tramaine Brock's absence. The cornerback will start on Monday after dealing with a hamstring injury and being listed as probable.

The only lineup changes were for the Vikings: center Joe Berger for John Sullivan, linebacker Gerald Hodges Jr. for Audie Cole and safety Andrew Sendejo for Robert Blanton.

San Francisco's inactives are as follows:

WR DeAndrew White

RB Mike Davis

CB Shareece Wright

G Brandon Thomas

NT Mike Purcell

C Nick Easton

LB Corey Lemonier

Poor hayne.... couldn't have asked for a better position to receive your first punt return and he stuffs it up massive.

I reckon he forgot that the defence can't actually recover the ball if you don't touch it.

Hayne fumbles his first punt, Reggie Bush goes down, and Mike Davis inactive.

Hayne is the default 2nd running back?

Baptism of fire coming up.

He'll make up for it I guess. Occasion must be getting to him

But those are regulatory catches in the NFL

No they aren't. It was a regulation leave though.

No punt returner in the league would have even bothered to go near that ball. It was falling well inside of halfway and too far for him to get to comfortably on the full. Just stay away from it and let it bounce

The fact he went for that catch means the coaches surely won't trust him again. I'm sure Ellington will be back there next time

Hunter is on the roster?

On Injured reserve. Basically could take a spot easily from Hayne when deemed 'fit'.

Massive mistake, that was the most simple leave call you'll see. Hopefully he gets some game time at RB and at least one return to make up for it.

Well he was still back out there for that one so obviously they aren't too worried about it.

How shit is the special teams for both sides today? Really earning that "special" tag
