Ha true, I know the hype is all there at the moment, but I seriously don't think we will ever see much of him

Had to laugh at the ESPN ad

Just about 'See Hayne make his NFL debut. He's made the roster. Tune in to see if he takes the field'

Jarryd Hayne - RB - 49ers
49ers RB/KR Jarryd Hayne isn't expected to get much, if any, playing time Week 1.
Hayne blew up this preseason with a 7.0 YPC mark on 25 carries and flashed playmaking ability on returns. But special teams coach Thomas McGaughey mentioned DeAndrew White, Reggie Bush, and Bruce Ellington as returners. Bush is definitely ahead of Hayne at tailback, and Mike Davis may be as well.

The 49ers coach didn't sugar coat anything today by pointing out that DeAndrew White lead the team in punt return in the preseason!

That's BS but imo.

They told him to fair catch one where he had freaking 20-30 yards in front of him easy.

On top of that...if we are talking about leading the team stats....then he should be starting running back.

They are just trying to talk it down now.

I think they're getting sick of the Australian journos and just feed them any bull to shut them down.

And those journos have to do everything they can to stay in the US on the expense account.

Serious business.

Sounds like Hayne himself is frustrated with all the non stop questioning of everybody in the building about him. Hope it doesn't turn into a tebow situation where the rest of the team grows weary of him.

Hmmm. It's a fair point
the australian media could wind up doing more harm than good here.

The article about Hayne being frustrated was a beat up. Same as the rest. He did nothing of the sort. Read the quotes.

That Tebow comparison is a good one... The media can certainly hurt him.

Here is an example:

"Hayne’s patience was tested further today when one reporter asked him when he was going to showcase his famous “Hayne plane” celebration. For a man who knows full well his chances of even getting on the field in the season-opener remain in limbo, it was hard not to bite. “I don’t know mate, I’m not worried about that,” he said."

Notice what the reporter suggests, or makes up. And then notice what Hayne actually said, which is quite reasonable and in line with every other response he has given. Humble & straightforward. The spin is the authors.

Tim Tebow is a nice bloke and was a good College Footballer, couldn't quite make the leap to NFL but still a good athlete.
