Yeah he was a bench player for the most of the season cause the Sharks had an insanely good back row. On last years form he was quite comfortably a starting back rower for the majority of clubs, not a fringe player at all.

Fringe was strong, but well down their pecking order - and hasn't been awful for us tbh

tbh he hasn't played anything like the player we signed him to be. He hasnt even shown remote signs of being that same player.

If we needed another carbon copy player of what we already have we just could of promoted David Bhana for far less.

.

He's not the Lone Ranger if that's the case...

But I expected him to be like this, Cronulla last year were a much better side than the Warriors, and he was a bench forward... he's had some dramas (alluded to, plus everyone assoc with Cronulla was affected) and still been decent imo...

If there's been a let down among new signings, it's the fullback, who was built up to be a superstar... if you thought Bukuya was going to be a superstar, I am not sure why that would be

He played better for us last year. Can say I am a little dissappointed, thought he would be great, certainly not the worst. Expected a better combo with Johnston, with Hurrell. I would not give up just yet.

And JJ is correct Gallen, Graham, Lewis and Topou where all preferred when fit.

They use him very poorly on attack. Plus is form has dropped off big time which I'm putting down to using him wrong and those supposed personal issues he has been having.
Best hole running forward 2013.
Supported Carney really well, they had a great combination going.
Gets used for all the decoy running that gives Johnsons game the time and space he has enjoyed this season, especially that right side play.

Johnson hasn't worked out how to time a flat pass to Bukuya in the same fashion Chad does with his 2nd row runner.

Johnson tried in the Broncos trial a couple of times. One pass went behind Bukuya, the other was a no look that hit the turf.

After that Bukuya doesn't get the ball when Hurrell and Tomkins are running out the back.

Got one good pass in the Raiders game at Eden park, set up a nice try off that.

Wrong team for a very good player having a poor season like the other noobs who haven't mastered the art of fitting into the Warriors most excellent systems .

Yup last year he looked great just running hard straight lines on the edges. This 2nd half of the season you could probably count on your hands how many times he has had the opportunity to do that. Mannering and Townsend did that very well for a while, Bukuya hasn't has the same chances.

Maybe that's why Townsend was dropped - not the game plan?

Pretty sure Warriors are 11-8 with Chad at 5/8, so 0/3 without him...

Really hard to work out why he's been dropped for someone who's looked slow, old, and bereft of creativity this year... Chad's relatively ordinary himself, but for me he's done the job, put Mannering through many gaps/half gaps, and generally the team has looked better with him at 6, Johnson at 7 and Friend at 9...

Gunna put it out there....again

For me Johnson is a 6.......

I do still think there is a difference.

You do not need this guy running your team, you need him to go where the gaps are with his fullback in tow.

There is another who can run the forwards......

Johnsons idol is Andrew Johns.

The Warriors don't let their halfbacks play in Shauns number.

Otherwise he is a standoff in his own little made up scrum half fantasy.

Good on him, that's real star player power.
