Is it the gameplan to rely so heavily on the wingers? Or are the forwards too slow in getting back onside to take the first/second hitups of the set.:?

Lillyman (when on the field) and Mannering usually get back to take a hit up with the backs.

The rest are on a rotation basis so they only have to hit it up once every 3-4 sets.

Apart from Mateo who gets back quick enough to play halfback.

Heres all the forwards carry and meter stats from last night.

Lillyman 9 for 74m
Mutts 5 for 40m
Henry 4 for 27m
Mannering 12 for 101m
Lousi 5 for 24m
Rapira 4 for 41m
Matagi 5 for 58m
Bukuya 1 for 3m
Mateo 8 for 66m

We got absolutely monstered.

Only Lillyman and Mannering got through a decent amount of work.
Martel not bad either

Why are there so little carries for Matulino, Rapira and Matagi?
They were pretty strong carries too, but they just didn't put in much work overall.

Cause our props don't usually take a hit up to tackle 3 or sometimes even 4, plus they usually all play around 40 minutes or less so they hardly get through much work compared to the other quality proping rotations.

We had a good propping rotation in 2011, it was the same blokes as now: Lillyman, Rapira, Matulino (and Packer I think). In those days they did the lions share of the work while Manu and Tupou would take hit-up 1 and 2 mostly to help out.

Our defensive work has really fallen off as well, in the mid season we were rushing up and nailing them early to give them little go forward. Yesterday (and on many occasions of late) the opposition just eats through huge metres.
