To be honest...he doesn't sound very inspiring.....you know.....just seems to be super excited....you know.....but hopefully that doesn't mean he can't kick these soft cocks arses into shape.

And he's been at two of those joints and seen their available resources you'd imagine.
I think he'll find out about his untested assumptions when he's spent some time here. Melbourne and Easts have massive recruitment/retention advantages. You need to listen to the Bernie Gurr interview Gronk linked to recently.

Some JR quotes from the interview

- As a kid was a Parra supporter

- little improvements every day to be better on the footy field

- lot of things aligned (with parra)

-He has the baton now and wants to continue the proud history

- grey (silver?) hair

Excellent choice having Adam Hawse conduct the interview as well.

A parra man but also a journo that knows how to ask the genuine questions

“As a general brief, I just think we need to be faster,” Ryles said.

“So right across the field, outside our halves obviously, we just need to work on our speed. Big is good but also we need to be fast as well.

Nice to see he has identified we need more speed and need more agility.

It's been obivous for a while we have lacked genuine pace outside of Moses.

Moving Gutho out of FB and bringing in fresh legs will help that.

First he'll have to fix the teams inability to defend if Gutho's not on the field...very little point him being on the bench if we're down 30-nil by the time he comes on.

Two teams that didn't even make the eight put 40 on us this year with Gutherson playing eighty minutes. You don't need to make excuses for them, or ascribe superhuman feats to him. Rissoling the scapegoat doesn't let these weak gutted merkins off the hook.
