Coaching means preparation
Ah, something you admit coaches are actually responsible for... after spending 18 months on here trying to put across BA as blameless for any poor performances - including against teams below us, and in certain games where we didn't aim up.

You have to admit the possibility of what everyone else was highlighting during that time, that BA's coaching (preparation) wasn't/was no longer up to scratch.

I am interested to hear from others who are old enough to have enjoyed the 4 GF wins in the 80's and the the drought that followed.

Just a simple observation from my POV, and certainly no fault on you, but the Brad Arthur era was a tropical island holiday compared to previous years.

No I am not being a hugger. Well, others will determine if I am or not.
The Brian Smith era shit on anything BA was involved in.

f**k of idiot. I’ve always said the head coach’s role is preparation (not recruiting, not salary negotiation, not teaching grown men how to tackle or catch a ball), and our preparation was never a problem outside of 2018 and 2024. Why was preparation poor in those years? Why does any team have a poor preseason? Must be because the coach is shit ffs

It seems that you really don't like it whenever your opinions are questioned or challenged.

And 2023... and 2018.. and 2015...
Why was preparation poor in those years? Why does any team have a poor preseason? Must be because the coach is shit ffs
Why the lack of willingness to accept that a coach's responsibility (preparation) might, just might, be linked to poor season performance? Why the need to mock or dismiss any criticism of the measurable output of a head coach?

That’s not I said. You and Hindy have comprehension issues.

What I said was the BA era was a walk in the park compared to the harder times that we have experienced post 1986.

I wasn’t handing out awards.

Has Papa ever played hooker? Is all this talk just based on a rumour? Seems like a bit of a transition going from winger/fullback to hooker.
I hope we keep Gutho unless we're getting someone quality in his place (not just Brailey). We still need a winger, 2nd rower and a 9 or 14.
A bit of luck with injuries next year and I think we'll make the 8, Moses and Hopgood back with a bit more pace around them and we look like a different team. I wouldn't just release Gutho and give up on the season.

All came from a bit of a throwaway line in an article that he could play there but the dogs only ever seemed to play him at fullback. But despite him not playing there he wouldn't be the first spine player to move into another spine position
