Ryles appears to be a deer in the headlights and if recruitment isn’t addressed aggressively in November I can’t see him surviving his tenure.

That’s how bad we are. Just look at the table. Worst attack, worst defence.
Minus 123.
I suspect when Ryles said Gutho and RCG could go immediately, that we would replace them with comparable abilities soon after. I think this has been the major flaw in his decision to let them go.

It was also a rookie recruitment error to let players go a year early and get nothing in return for doing so. It was a monumental f**k up.

Problem is Gutherson agitated for an early release because he secured a 3 year deal which we refused to do. The rookie mistake was telling the media what Gutherson’s role would be in 2025.

Can’t really judge Ryles until he has some real talent to work with and more than 6 or 7 NRL level players in the top 30. Appears he knows what is needed, but doesn’t have the roster to do it.

How much confidence and time do the fans have in the current R&R regime to build that roster, last 5 years and the “computer says NO”

Ryles is safe as houses.
Rebuilds take time and anyone thinking logically understands that.

the dogs were shithouse year one, Ciraldo needed 2 off seasons to get his game plan and structures ingrained.

similar being seen with Benji.

we’ve also missed our best player, team captain and director on field, with arguably the best kicking game in the comp, and our 5/8th has played one half of good footy all season.

Ryles will begin being judged on where we finish season 2026.

Ciraldo and Benji were both able to attract good first graders in their second year. Will Ryles be able to attract anyone decent?

Agree,
Ryles needs two off seasons, plus some injection of established quality for next year. Calling for him to be sacked now is just inappropriate and not feasible.

But like Noise just mentioned, what first grade quality are we gonna attract for next year with a huge "war chest" to spend ? without paying way overs ? Who wants to come here to paly for a rookie coach? Maybe Ryles can persuade some Storm guys to come up, like Ciraldo with Ruffs best?

Dogs were 3-3 in Ciraldos first year, but fell away.

We have fallen away straight away

Despite thinking Ryles is a mistake being our first grade coach from the get go, I have hopes he will turn it around and we are successful. its shit losing, its shitter getting lapped

Nobody is calling for him to be sacked now but nobody thought we’d be this shit either.

His biggest call so far was to let Gutho walk. We miss him badly and it’s part of the reason why we are a much worse team than 2024.

Sort term gain for long term gain ? Unsure what players we would have lost if not for his 2025 cash. Reg the same.

Maybe someone can explain it to me.

It may need to be Ryles our R&R gurus don’t appear to have any cache in the market . The media have so far not placed any criticism on possibly the biggest club in Sydney continually signing mostly reserve graders under the currently tenured staff.
