bula ... you were on the money!

And what about Jennings, he did not look out of place all night. What great defence work he has. You go boy! Great try too. He was in the hunt all night and in sight all night. Good stuff. I think we and he can be assured he's bagged that centre.

I didn't really have much faith in what you said and I don't really know how you knew. And I don't care Jennings was outstanding tonight. What a debut I cannot discribe at the moment how happy I am. Even with the after effects of far too many burbons starting to kick in.

Great work Bula. You released information that was supposed to kept in house since Tuesday whem it was known Youngquest would be ruled out.

i think is common practise that if a player is to make his debut and is replacing someone that they dont name the change till just before kick off that way the media cant get to them, but the family of the kid all know in advance usually if it some one of promise anyway as i have seen that happen a few times before with people i know and we have gone and got tickets to see them debut but they dont tell the media till the hour before kick off a lot of the time .

What was the particular reason that the substitution was kept so hush hush?
So the dogs didnt have time to prepare?

The reason being it didnt give Folksie time to prepare any particular game plans to target him! he told me on tuesday, so Elliot knew, the panthers knew just not the public and media

Great call bula! I never doubted your call, it's just that I have read enough rumours posted on here that haven't come true, so I was just being cautious!

Great debut by him too... a try, and looked like he belonged there!

anyone point me in the direction of someone who might be able to make up a jennings signature banner for me?

I could come out of "retirement" and make you one... not a whiz-bang one like Timmah, but one all the same! :)

Let me know what you want, and I can whip one up for you.

I got a bit "suspicious" when I saw Youngquest with Rodney at a pre-club function around 5:30 on Friday night... I didn't ask, but it was assumed that he was injured.

I called to a mate who was already in the ground watching PL, and asked if there was any player of note missing in their backline... I was told Jennings was missing.

That to me said he was playing.

Hehehe.

When i saw the team run out and there was no number 3 i knew where he was. From what i could figure, Daniella moved into number 3 (wearing the number 5). Not sure who exactly played in his position though.

And Brendan Worth was playing in number 22 i think it was, but he got injured. Peewee Moke ran on and was hurt in his first tackle. Really soft tackle also. Kind of dissapointing.

I saw Youngquest last night at a restaurant and he still didn't look 100%, consistently grabbing at his quad. So I think he'll be out this week as well.

But from what I saw, you can't drop Jennings, and the switch in side for Rooney was a godsent imo. A different number on his back, a new lease of life, and a licence to do whatever he wants on the park. Great stuff.

Barring an absolute disaster, Jennings WILL play against the Broncos... and for the rest of the season.

By the way, what's his background? Is he a Kiwi?
