A lot of the older manufactures logos (like sponsor logos) would fade or fall off, and sometimes (particularly in the 90s) the manufacture of supporters jerseys was all over the place with old stock being reworked for the next year and even jerseys being sold without a manufacturers logo on it, all of which makes it relatively easy to make a modern replica look like an original.
