I dunno if this jersey was ever worn in an NRL game but it's interesting to see the NRL badge in the middle of the jersey.

It's the Rams from 1998.

Have always thought that the Adelaide jersey above was quite similar to this jersey below. (The one Joey is wearing).

By the way, who chose black/white/grey for a Gold Coast franchise? Why not add beige and taupe into the drab mix?

Thats definately 1990.

I know in 1991, when Wally Lewis came to the club, they didnt have a major sponsor on the jersey, or at least the start of the season.

Also that Rams photo looks like it was taken pre-season, cause they definately wore the badge on the crest like all the other jersies.

And that blue Crushers jumper isnt a bad one, I just thought it was only worn for Sevens but looking at the photo (Gilly's last game?) it mustve been worn on the odd occassions during the Winfield Cup or Optus Cup.

No worse than Penrith or Wests at the time.

I'll concede Penrith in brown/white but Wests wore traditional colours dating back 80 years. Grey/black/white is a boring combo for a 1980's expansion side for a younger population. Complete opposite of the Titans' approach these days.

Very true, but they may have been going for that strong look that black indicates on a jersey.

The mid 80's was a very different time to now and much less was known about merchandising etc.

I'm surprised no one commented on the green shorts that Souths players are wearing.. They actually don't look too bad with the jersey.


Maybe THAT can be a feature of their heritage strip one year? NRL shorts are pretty popular here in NZ..

The Tweed Seagulls owned the NSWRL licence and their colours have been black and white for decades. Not sure why their predecessors the Giants went with grey though
