This was the 7's kit and for some reason was allowed by the ARL, despite the ARL not letting the club change their colours for the regular season.

The Crushers also made some concept kits for the 1998 season they never played.

I wonder what the Crushers would look like today if they were still around. I can't imagine that vertical striping would have translated too well to a modern fitting jersey.

I like the more vibrant colours on the concept jerseys. The 7s jersey is strange - it's like they took something Canterbury already had in their catalogue and just stitched a V over the top.

Hopefully they would have transitioned to this...

the ‘98 mock ups are great.

To be honest, I don’t know why we aren’t talking about the Crushers brand for the 2nd Brisbane team.

Brisbane Crushers would be cool! A nice nod to history.

considering they were blue and mustard WTF is your red and yellow

The post I quoted wondered what the Crushers would look like today.

I took the colours from the 98 prototype and just went for a red yellow combo at a stab they'd have rebranded...with a shit 00s design inbetween.

Nobody knows the full story about the different Crushers colours, even more confusing that use the 1996 badge, and the XXXX logo that never was....

Oh I forgot about them, my mistake. Perhaps they were waiting on the ARL to pull the plug on a Gold Coast franchise similar to what happened to the gladiators.
Unlucky there, Chargers played a year longer than the Crushers....

Heres a polo. Pricks didn't know what colours they wanted...

Even more confusing- this came out in 94...

The Chargers were offered a merger with the Crushers, Chargers knocked them back and the Crushers folded a year before the Chargers were booted.

Imagine a Mariners, Chargers, Crushers merger today? With a nod to those histories, and the Giants and Seagulls...it'd be standard NRL jersey operating procedure with a different themed jersey every week.

Interesting, in those terms I would see why the deal was knocked back.

I actually thought they did technically merge but it was more of a takeover. I probably read a single story in a newspaper about it in the lead up and then just assumed that's how it all unfolded.

Not that I really cared or paid any attention.

One day they were here, the next they were gone. Like a lot of teams of the era.

Na, they just picked up a few of their players.
The Chargers didn’t need a merge because they were financially strong. It was only because the Broncos wanted them out that they were gone.

Didn't they have something like $7m in the bank when they were wrapped up?
