When the Titans were NRL owned, I remember talk from some here that Norths (maybe even in conjunction with Burleigh) would be a good option.. and at the time, I thought that too - but on reflection, I don't think it was the right brand for a GC based NRL club.
I’ll be honest, I had a pretty detailed breakdown of what happened around that time re: Norths and GC but decided to edit and remove it from the post. Didn’t think it was worth being part of the conversation.

Keen to hear it- I know the Titans perspective well from the time but only heard what Billy Moore was mouthing at the from the Norths perspective.

Came across this chat. Good posts gents.

Burleigh Bears certainly have a rich history as a footy club, however commercially they aren’t and never been on that sort of level to have been able to be promoted to the NRL as a business entity like Dolphins were.

Leagues Club revenue is underwhelming (good spot though - just saying it how it is).

Furthermore, I don’t think the Bears brand would have been able to be taken on (as Norths were bidding at the same time in the 2nd attempted incarnation of CC - 2005. It would have been a similar situation to GC NRL Bid using Dolphins branding and then ceasing to use Dolphins once Redcliffe tapped them on the shoulder).

Titans have had their ups and downs but under new management look to have made a good recovery and the current owners are doing a decently sound job. Their brand stocks are rising and good things are on the horizon for the club I reckon. Hopefully Burleigh cease their partnership with Broncos soon and join Titans. No ill will towards Broncos, it just makes more sense for Burleigh to be under Titans for geographical reasons. I’m not sure if both GC/Tweed clubs have ever been Titans feeders at the same time. I think they have but can’t 100% recall.
Most of the clubs history has been associated with both Burleigh and Tweed. We still have connections to the Burleigh juniors but it would be good to have them reunite.
