You watch the NRL twist itself into pretzel shaped contortions to avoid having to treat a batch the same way they dealt with Barba as a "1 off" and still "sound tough".

Barba wasn't a "one off".

He had tested postive to cocaine twice, and under the agreement with the RLPA and the NRL that is a 12 week ban.

Cube is actually a gay club.

Cube hasn't been a genuine gay bar for years

Anyway anyone who owns any kind of business in the ACT knows that CCTV is inadmissible as the primary form of evidence in a prosecution. So unless old mate throws them under the bus there'll be no case

Illicit Drugs
All NRL and NYC players are subject to the NRL’s Illicit and Hazardous Drugs Policy, which operates independently from the NRL clubs and is conducted by an independent and fully certified third party provider. The policy ensures code-wide consistency.

To ensure the program's integrity and effectiveness clubs or players are not aware of the timing or number of drug tests. Samples are collected in a private and controlled environment by third-party personnel with detailed knowledge of Australian and New Zealand testing standards. Samples are analysed for amphetamines – a category that includes as speed, ecstasy and ice – ketamine, cannabis, cocaine, opiates, and synthetic versions of those drugs. In addition to these, the NRL also analyses samples for prescription drugs.

Players found to be using illicit drugs have immediate access to professional support and treatment to overcome the potential effects on their health. A first positive test results in the player receiving a suspended fine, and they must undertake a mandatory treatment program. The player is also placed on a monitoring program which involves targeted testing.

Players who record a second contravention will serve a 12-match ban, the prospect of contract termination and further treatment and monitoring. Third time offenders will face more severe disciplinary action.

Which also applies to Broncos regardless of their location.

Honestly how f**king dumb so not even attempt to do it in a private area.

Not to mention you have sideshow bob who sticks out like f**king donkeys balls.
We admire these guys for their sporting skill/war stories/joy they bring. Praise of a League player for their smarts is a rare phenomenon.

I know all that. I'm a Sharks fan but have no sympathy for Barba's predicament, he brought it on himself.

The "1 off" was in reference to the number of players involved.

I thought Jesse sat alongside Smith, Slater and Cronk as the smart ones in the group.

Silly me! Haha

For over 20 years I have accepted that I'm watching good athletes that are brain dead stupid. I don't have many mates who like rugby league cos of shit like this 1 day after SKD these idiots do this.

I say to my mates we did drugs all the time 10-15 years ago. It is a society problem unfortunately for rugby league players seems a way out if they weren't playing league they would probably have jobs that require no education.

These things are not going away. I would be naive to think half of the tigers were on it at last year's mad monday. Then simona Lovetts the only one that got caught.

They are not role models they are just good athletes I have accepted it.

There are so many dropkicks in today's game and a lot of them were playing for Australia last night. It's part of what entertains me these days. Watching a merkin put a magic show on the field to then watching the same merkin drink their own piss, take coke, drink drive and call cops at the same time. It's rather entertaining. Give me another 20 years.

I will get drunk to that lol.

I'll drink to that . . . there are exceptions but most RL players as an alternative would have to own a prime mover to make decent money so if they took a little something would you want them behind a wheel

If rugby league players had to pass an IQ test rather than HIA, we would have the shittiest game of all

Edit.

Add some Chairmen to that list

Stood down whilstbthey sort out their problems ie they'll be back in a couple of weeks

Was old mate trying to lose his captaincy out of sympathy for his coach who surely is now out of a job?

Bring back Mannering as captain.
