Man, there are some self-righteous wankers in this thread. So what, who cares.

If they've been named in court, ASADA should be all over this, if they are serious about drugs in sport..

Particularly as it's game day..

IIRC, Wendell Sailor got his 2 year holiday for having a positive test within 24 hrs of a performance (even though his use was also after a match)

Serious? Never heard of brand damage?

Personally I couldn't give a f**k if some of these guys do a few pingers or a bit of blow and I dare say plenty of fans feel the same. They're human, they ha e the same habits the public do.

I seriously doubt the brand damage will be anything other than very minor.

The more f**kwits who love telling people how to live their lives get shown the door, the better. There's the door Perth Red, use it.

Yeh how much better would society be if everyone just did whatever they wanted?

You are making it sound like it's the crime of the century. West Coke Eagles have been exposed for systematic drug use yet it barely raised a ripple. This is no better or worse.

Sadly we don't have the media control in Sydney the eagles have in Perth so this will be front page news and damaging the game far more significantly than the Eagles years of coke heads who have generally been brushed under the carpet or treat as sympathy cases.

If you think this sht doesn't affect public perception of a sport then You are crazy, fans dont give a sht but the other 80% of the public that aren't fans but that you'd like to attract certainly do form opinions about a sport based on media projection, sadly.

Not only the Public that aren't league followers, but Sponsors and potential Sponsors as well.
Would you really want your brand associated with something that has been tarnished by drug use?

Ask Cronulla and how the sponsors dropped them like hot stones, or parra and how well they are going at getting a main jersey sponsor.

I don't disagree with what you are saying and of course it's not a good look at all. My take is that the media are sh*t and take something like this and milk it for more than it's worth. I mean Paul Kent is still going on about Fifita and that was 6 months ago.

Parramatta have had a few sponsor offers which they have knocked back thankfully, as the last one was involved in a drug bust in the Riverina, a day or so after offering the Sponsorship to Parramatta

So they still haven't got a main sponsor since their brand was dragged through the mud, as I said this sht costs. Especially as we are talking about a national team captain a few hours after a test match. It's not the worse crime ever by any stretch but it just gives the media more sht to heap on the game and that has consequences for the code.
