I think Bromwich and Proctor have both stuffed the rlpa push for 29% and players having a greater role in the game. Why the hell would the nrl want that? The Nrl would be stupid not to put behavior clauses.
Well, from the evidence available, the NRL is 'stupid'.
I can't believe how much power the players already have - before this current collective bargaining period began. I can't believe how much coin a lot of average footballers are on now. Happy for the very top echelon to earn big dollars, players who consistently win matches for their club but there are some blokes who are being paid like stars who will never ever be. It will be beautiful to watch the reaction of the RLPA and the NRL if the next TV rights deal is flat or less than the current one.
Managers are running the show. It's a joke that players are leaving clubs at all times of the season. Players not having to see contracts out and clubs pushing players out before their contract ends.
The NRL is a mess in so many areas. First and foremost, the leadership is woeful. The Commission has thus far has pretty much been a joke. Greenburg, who apparently hates the politics of the job, sounds only like a politician. No action. Few original ideas.
This rep weekend has been awful. Why stop the competition proper for it? Surely there is a better solution?
The NRL season draw is a mess. Teams playing the same side 5 weeks apart in a 16 week comp??? A few teams playing regularly on a set day of the week. What the f**k?
Gimmick and exhibition games played preseason that the average fan don't give a shit about.
Now another 100 million to be spent arresting the demise of junior participation rates? Do these blokes realise it is 10 years or more too late?
Geez NRL, grow a pair ffs.
