Just shows merkins throughout the game, still a ways to go to catch up to the druggy sharks though.

Yep salary cap cheating for a few years players not complaining over about 2 months of players given not asking for peppies.Take your pick.

Ask Cronulla and how the sponsors dropped them like hot stones, or parra and how well they are going at getting a main jersey sponsor.

of course any offield dramas gets sponsors uppity.Except of course the fumblers ,when Essenbong seem to retain theirs.
All sponsors positions currently filled at the Sharks as well as corporate boxes.Being premiers helps of course.
Didn't sponsors drop the Storm after the salary cap fiasco?

Personally I couldn't give a f**k if some of these guys do a few pingers or a bit of blow and I dare say plenty of fans feel the same. They're human, they ha e the same habits the public do.

I seriously doubt the brand damage will be anything other than very minor.
I don't really care what they do in their own time either.
I haven't seen any evidence so will await judgement. But if the evidence is clear, these two have to be punished if only for sheer f**king stupidity.

Unlikely. He gave an interview from the sideline of the game tonight. That's right a game on pay TV not FTA.That may be as good as it gets.

I'm no fan of Turdberg but your criticism seems misplaced, how do you suggest he could give a interview on a FTA game last night?

Ha. It was late when I posted but what I meant was it would have been better for him to have had an interview/prerecorded press conference that made the FTA news bulletins.

I can understand Jessie, the best Prop Forward in the game can't play for Australia . . . maybe Kevin talked him into drowning his sorrows

I think Bromwich and Proctor have both stuffed the rlpa push for 29% and players having a greater role in the game. Why the hell would the nrl want that? The Nrl would be stupid not to put behavior clauses.

Behavior clauses?

I remember a guy a few years ago, got pissed at a function, got a cab home, walked up to his apartment stairwell and still copped a 4 week ban from the NRL.

What do you suggest? Give more to the clubs, of whom Keogh was Chairman of one?

Behavior clauses ...absolutely. There should be a fine system with clauses in the standard nrl players contract that if found guilty of bringing the game into disrepute they pay a fine (% of yearly wage) or something like that.

Definitely NO! For me clubs are a waste of space and are just the middleman between players and the nrl. They have a little history and most have a bad piece of history somewhere. Since storm cap scandal the nrl stance on executives performance has been a lot stronger.

There needs to be bonuses for players that do have a good online presence and helps spread the nrl msg in a good light. And fines for those who perform lower than the socially accepted standard.

It's like gold for fans of some clubs when an individual from another club stuff up. Who in RL could cast the first stone? Is this what the sport has come to?

Define "bringing the game into disrepute " ??

Semi Radrada brought bad news onto the game, and we all know how that turned out for him and his ex missus.
So you would advocate the NRL punished/punishes Semi, even though he is innocent ?

When the NRL has meeted out punishment to other players for various stuff, they have set the precedents.

Why should other clubs be placed in a position of disasvantage if others don't?

Of course, there has been no decision made on punishments, so its a wait and see.

I don't think anyone enjoys the fact these dumb pricks have dragged league through the mud again.

For mine drug cheating of any kind is far worse.

Deliberate when players are fully aware the substance is banned, yes.
Although I consider drink driving threatening lives of others far worse, and you get hit with a wet lettuce.
Although if you are a News Ltd journo ,you can do it twice, and still carry on.
I lost a cousin to an idiot over the limit.

I agree as a rl fan, anytime these gimps carry on whether it be via drugs, carrying on like idiots in front of mobile phones nearby, allegations of DV ,abuse of alcohol, the game gets dragged through the mud.

I then spend my time justifying to relos and friends why the game is great, and it's not the majority.

If any are found guilty hit em hard, heavy fines, suspensions, losss of captaincy. How dumb are some when the drug message is hammered home time and time again. These guys are on $700 K plus per year in some cases.

How the hell can you encourage kids to play the game, when some players continually drag the game down.

While the admin is at it, get rid of head high/gang tackles fullstop, and the bleeding wrestle.Let the game flow.
That Simms who played for Fiji ,carries on with the cheek tackle time and time again also in the NRL.He spot away with it again last night.

I'm not against what the NRL does to the bad boys as long as it's consistent.
I disagree with your last sentence - many League fans rub their grubby paws together when another club f**ks up in some way, whilst downplaying the shit in their own clubs.
