mate i have no problem with your opinion, you are entitled to it.....but how are they imposters, they play Balls out rock n Roll, not like the crap some bands are trying to pass off as Rock n Roll nowadays ....they dont pretend to be anything they aint

if you are going to play the "they rip off the beatles" or "they use 60`s riffs"
card.......well using that logic the Beatles ripped off Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Carl Perkins......the Stones ripped off All the Black Bluesmen and Led Zeppelin did the same thing.....and those three Bands were the Biggest bands in the world at one time

Beatles? They are nothing like them!
The difference between the bands you mention and Jet is they were good, and there was a great deal of originality in what they produced. Sure they might have borrowed bits and pieces of what came before but that is what most good bands do.
Unfortunately for Jet, the tripe that they are regurgitating is crap. They are nothing more than an Iggy Pop pastiche, and there is no creativity involved whatsoever. I've got nothing against balls out rock and roll, but just getting a couple of guitars going and some idiot screaming and going through the motions does not make it automatically any good.
If they aint impostors then I don't know who is!

mate you and i will have to agree to disagree on this one, me personally i think Jet are a great Band......you think they are crap, that is one of the great things about being a music nut......all the different likes and dislikes,
over the last thirty five years i have been put onto some great music from people with different tastes to what i like.......that is how i discovered 1950s Jamaican Ska/RnB......now that is another story, but we will go into that later lol!!!!

"Opinion" refers to whether or not you like a band but it doesn't change the fact that Jet are crap.

Example - if someone was to say to you "Eddie Van Halen is a crap guitarist", the correct response would be "not he's not, you just don't like him" because there is no way he is a crap guitarist.

In this case, if we were to say "Jet are a crap band", the correct response from you would be "Yes they are but I like them".

I won't be rushing out to buy the new one...they're rich enough now.

No probs dude, i understand where you are coming from. To jet's credit they are making rock & roll which does require a fair bit of effort compared to a lot of other types of music these days like electronica with heavy sampling.

Their first couple of singles were pretty bloody huge, so they were doing something right, but I'd prefer them to try and do things in a new direction like You Am I or something.

Look at all that black nail polish eyeliner pretend punk getting around...now that is fuggen rubbish.

At least Jet are doing their own kind of rippoff...a bit like Wolfmother.

Every band sound like some other band in a way.

Farked if I can tell the difference between songs let alone bands in a lot of that death metal stuff.
It seems like a fairly straight forward recipe...
Sing like a monster about the devil or suicide and distort the bejesus out of every guitar.

I don't find Jet listenable at all. They are one of those bands that, when they come on at the pub or wherever, I feel frustrated and agitated and just want to get away from it. I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
