I dont think you have to see it to be offended.. just hearing about it and knowing what happened was enough.. and sometimes thats often worse than seeing it.. usually when you see it.. its not as bad as what it was made out.. but in this instance.. it was worse.. it was shocking

The problem about "hearing it" from third parties is that they can put any spin on it. I've heard people telling others "oh there's a picture of him having sex with a dog going around" which simply is not true.

There's no doubt Monaghan needs to be punished and he has done something wrong, but EA is right.

It's disgusting that bestiality is legal in Australia's capital. I know people right round the world are outraged that a country which we have been led to believe is progressive actually takes a pro-bestiality stance. On a serious note - how is what I said denial? Regardless of what I said above I still very strongly believe a ban is in order for Monaghan and he's got some things wrong upstairs, I don't agree with the hysteria that's surrounding this.

Can I ask where there's evidence he smeared anything on his genitals, or that the Dog has actually not just been "called over and had it's head held close to his crotch"?

You seem to have made an awful amount of assumptions over one little picture.


Just in case you missed it, regardless of which version of events is actually the truth, nobody is in denial about it being sick and wrong, and nobody disagrees with the fact he needs to be shown the door. Whether that's temporary or permanent, up to the authorities.

No. I'm outraged because the stupid pr!ck has put himself and his club in a position to let the newspapers run riot. If he hadn't played dog dick dog the newspapers would have nothing to report and people nothing to be outraged about.
I think his actions were ridiculous rather than criminal, if that's what he wants to do in his free time, go it. But the fact he had no awareness of what the media etc would say is absolutely baffling. 28 year old men should know about responsibilities and consequences.

Perhaps if Monaghan paid the dog the same amount of money ($200,000) that was paid by another code's very high profile player to a person that he allegedly did not rape and then refused to comment, all would be fine.

I am disappointed with a stupid act by an adult, but am even more amazed that Monaghan could be so poorly advised that he would admit to it rather than denying it and putting the onus of proof on the rest of the world.

Granted, but I was talking about the incident rather than the photographing of it. Once the photo is snapped it has the potential to go public. Once its public its not his free time its a free for all. Pissed or not he should have realised that. And if was too mullered to realise it then he's got other issues.

Here's a rule of thumb that works for me; If I'm 99% sure it's going to offend me, I don't look.

As for Monaghan, he'll be crucified and to be honest, I think he's about to pay the ultimate price for the sins of others over the years, which doesn't seem right.
