Well we do have a ready made replacement in Sims, younger, tackles hard and runs hard also.
Im guesing they are seeing this as a chance to open a spot on the bench perhaps?
Sims moves into Joels position, and we can have 3 of either Lawrie, Sele, Host or Leilua on the bench with AhMAu.
Presuming Graham starts with Vaughan, AhMau on the bench, Have maybe Lawrie, Sele and maybe Leilua on the bench?
Is Sims that an adequate replacement for JT? id have to say yes, he has returned to his devasting best form.
Not saying thats exactly why, but as a guess id say that could be one way the club might be looking at it?
And it saves us $450k or so a year off our cap to maybe make a play for another quality prop or a gun outside back?
If nene goes, he is reportedly on $250k a year, that gives us aprox $700k to play with and upgrade our roster even more.
Korabetti for $300k and $400k to spend on a prop with grunt.

He is a gun player Walker, but i think you will find Lafai and Aitken will go to another level playing off Hunt and Widdop next year.
Personally id like to see us get wingers with speed to capitalise on what Hunt, Widdop, Lafai, and Aitkens will create.
Move Nene on, move Nighty on, get Korabetti and that Otto guy from canberra. Both flyers that will bring some much needed excitement back to us Red V fans!!!!

I'd say its that old saying Tru, keep your mouth closed till the deals done. B.Moz did it perfectly, even posed for "that" pic at one stage.
I'd say Manly are offering him 3 or 4 years, We probably dont want to offer that length due to the youngsters coming through, and JT probably thinks the backlash from fans caused by an announcement might jeopardise the deal???
