The player agents are the biggest problem the game faces. They control where players and coaches go and when they go.

Clubs are being continually blackmailed to either release or extend contracted players. Ricky was 100% correct in his media rant against them. I am sick of players like Matterson and Bateman walking out on contract because their agents have found a new home for them.

Not sure what’s the answer, but maybe a salary cap penalty for any club signing a player who was still under contract may stop the practice. Although I lay the blame for this practice at the parasite agents and not the clubs

Let’s hope Mr fix it..Peter V pulls the grubs into line

lol

Sticky gives the guy the biggest break of his life and is the bad guy.

Never change LU.

This Moses person is clearly toxic.

But in the end the ungrateful pommie soap dodger is a grown man an edge backrower which are a dime a dozen.

Go home. Not required here, many better.

DT saying we offered 750k and it was knocked back. Looked around and couldnt get any bites at the 950k he wanted. Came back asking for the 750k and got told the money was spent.

So he's dragged his reputation through the mud and has to leave the club all for 100k less than we offered. Lol good work for your client there Moses.

Why any player signs with Moses beggars belief. His entire history is an agent is littered with shit like this.

Bateman ends up at a worse club, for less money and has gone from a club cult hero to Dugan Mk.2 with the fanbase.

Well done Jonneh, well done.

‘but it ok when clubs want to get rid of players prior to contracts expiring . Or clubs using media to campaign for players to be let go , ie it was a disgrace how the sharks were forced to let go of Morris , was that a players managers fault or roosters wanting to boost their side .
Both go hand in hand

Exactly, there is no loyalty these days either way. Clubs are happy to offload when it suits them and players are happy to move on if they can get a better deal. Welcome to professional sport.

Bateman fulfilled his contract and decided to test himself on the open market. Its a shame for him and Raiders I think as he was a good fit there and contributed to their success, but if he gets more money at Bulldogs or can go home and be with his dtr for same money at Wigan then cant blame him.

Yep Riolo was very outspoken then and I'm betting had a hand in the "just let him play with his brother" media campaign.

not that I’m a fan of Moses , but can you lay the blame on him

when clubs f**k around players to get them off the books it’s ok

you use Seibold and Kearney as examples, they are head coaches and if they are playing to the tune of a player manager it says more about them than Moses.

players managers role is to get as much $ for their clients as possible , that is their core function.

a coaches function is to try win a premiership , coach players and keep healthy rosters etc , not to make money or support a player manager . If these coaches have their clubs playing the tune of the player manager they are at fault and no one else. The only benefit I can see a coach stocking up a roster with a player manager stable is because that player manager has a ‘in’ with the management of the club to get them a gig , which again implies the management of the club is not working for the benefit of the club.

Moses just lost his client at least 80k a year so he could ink a deal Moses could get the commission on, instead of the last bloke... He fails at his "core function".

Plus his client now has to run off Lewis & Remus Smith to earn a buck...

It's a bit premature to say Bateman has lost money. There will be other nrl clubs trying to create some extra cap space as we speak.

The Roosters, Broncos and Titans are all in the Fafita Stakes. Only one of them can be successful, and the others will have cap space for Bateman, or wouldn't be far off.

So Raiders encourage Bateman to break his contract by throwing a bag of cash at him.

Then they're outraged he wants to break contact for a bigger bag of cash.

But its not good for the game, is it Stick?

I think he left Wigan the same way he's leaving Canberra. Told his manager he wants more money and the nrl was the only place to get it. He then gets in touch with Mulholland and Canberra and Wigan work out a deal.

No he didnt, he was under contract at Wigan and Raiders poached him out of that contract. He is out of contract at Raiders and can do what he wants.

If I was a Raiders fan Id be asking why the frick we paid a large transfer fee and only gave him a 2 year contract? and why after he showed how good he was in year 1 we didn't up his salary and sign him up to a 3 or 4 year contract extension?
Seems to me Raiders have very badly read this situation and given him/Moses the opportunity to find more money elsewhere when they could have easily held on to him.

He's not out of contract. Canberra are releasing him from the final year
